Various Pakistani news channels are reporting that Zulqarnain Haider has suffered an injury and might be out 2-3 weeks. That ofcourse would mean the return of Kamran butterfingers Akmal to the team.

Thought it was all in good spirit.....even Ramiz used to laugh at Inzi sometimes when he would do a little after match interview...i remember once Ramiz on camera was cracking up hard and Inzi was not impressed lol......so nothing wrong with the way Warney or Naseer reacted...even if they were laughing at his english..you have got to admit it was funny as hell....

FMD I'll hate Broad forever if Haider misses out. Kid showed incredible gutso on debut when most of the rest of the team rolled over, and he might miss out on the rest of his debut series because of this **** and his wayward throw. Fuming.

His bluntness in the interview was caused by his lack of command of the English language - if he had've been more fluent he could have measured his words better. Thought they could have cut him more slack.

Don't think they did anything wrong. I don't think they were laughing at his language skills, more what he was saying. Atherton actually said, 'cracking interview'. Don't think it was a case of anyone going, "haha, you can't speak English properly".

I laughed when I was watching it too, and I thought Ajmal was fantastic in it. Very refreshing.

Obviously Broad was an idiot for what he did, but I think it's a bit rich to complain about him not receiving a harsher punishment when Pakistan's best player in the series has been caught using nandrolone twice. In many sports Asif would've been banned for life by now.

Yeh but that is two completely different subjects... Asif has been caught,banned,unbanned,fined,fined by his WAG() and more... And btw you can't get banned for life using nandrolone... What Broad did was not under the influence of anything at all, completely unnecessary. Asif didn't hurt anyone, Broad (alegedly) broke someone's finger. Yes, there is a difference.

As good a bowler as Broad can be, he is unfortunately something of a campanologist's handle.

I'd have loved to see the ECB leave him out for a test with the instruction to grow up several years.

Good to hear this from an England fan (assuming).....everyone knows he didn't mean to break a finger but his actions may have caused even more damage....he should put more into his bowling to take out his aggression...and not out of play ball throwing....anyways hope Haider recovers...

Yep, England fan - but cricket fan first and foremost and, admittedly running the risk of standing on cliché, that sure as hell wasn't cricket.

I have been ranting a bit about sportsmanship, attitude and spirit at the lower levels of the game, where I'm an active coach, lately, and I can't help but feel the fact that a "role model" gets away with acting like a **** is a contributory factor towards some of the clear and present arrogance that you can see in a number of very good young players: arrogance that you know isn't going to help a 10-year-old progress with his game.

Oh, Marc, how far away from Wellesbourne are you? I'm there tomorrow with a County U11 B match.
