Division Three Comp

chalky

International Debutant
We got turned over by Garforth Town last night 2-1.

Having never heard of Garforth Town but looking at their web site they seem little more than a good pub side.

About Us

5-2 for us to go down looking a pretty safe bet.

GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
Jester beat us 2-1 last night, we had mainly kids playing apparently.

Ten days to go though so I am excited.

We have the first match of this competition I do believe.

C'mon Colchester. Only a short matter of time before our coach is poached by some medicre Championship team and any decent players we've accumulated jump ship for pastures equally mediocre.

Quietly confident we will be heading this next weekend, lots depends if our defence and Nards are fit though. Interesting test against the team supported by our resident Anglophobe (which is understandable) and Essex lover (which is more perplexing).

Not sure I'll be there, which is depressing, but we'll see.

Pretty happy with getting Gary Alexander from Milwall, got a pretty decent record and him and Grecian's favourite striker should form a farily good partnership.

Pim Balkestein has finally signed as well which is great news, was excellent on loan last season.

Think the squad is reasonable, maybe if Mr Wenger would like to give us a youngster or two then we have a real chance at the play-as offs.

Alexander is a good striker at this level, was decent for us, and an interesting footnote in our history,

Bit injury prone though

Getting quite excited now, bad foot may mean I can't majke the match, but we'll see. Painkillers and Stella may work against the pain:unsure:

Well we have signed Jean Yves M'voto and Oumare Tounkare on loan for the season from Sunderland. M'voto was apparently at Southend last year. Rumours that it has something to do with Tom Eaves going in the other direction, hopefully thats not true

Wtf

The Saints kit is bizarre, has it been explained, I just turned over. It's okay for an away kit, but just doesn't look like Southampton.

Do we discuss our League in general here as well as the competition? Anything in the main thread just gets lost in with the Premier League dross.

Anyway a dreadful first half for the Greens against Southampton but a competent and fairly comfortable second half smash and grab. I would still expect Southampton to finish in the top 6 well ahead of us. I think though based on the second half we could be organised enough to put together enough points to avoid another relegation battle.

I dunno really, think it's probably best to do it in here, but there's no hard and firm rules. We've always discussed lower league stuff in the Official football thread, but there have been times recently that thread has turned a bit crap, IMO.

Anyway, decent result for you lot annoyingly.

I'm at home for the first day of the season, was at Darlo and Leeds, for the previous two season openers, but a home match is too much for me this season :(

To save me looking back randomly through the thread could we have a list of which member supports which club in this competition?

It looks like Oldham are the early leaders.:)
