*Official* Pakistan in England 2010

Before the series started Broad and Anderson were averaging about 35 runs per wicket in tests. Thats pie chucker stats. If anyone seriously thinks they're world class, lets see what happens in convict land.
Bowling averages of 35 are like the new 25, kind of like batting averages of 50 are the new 40, flat pitches, big bats, That's why this English summer has been so good.

Amir averaged 41.16 just 4 Tests ago, and also averaged 35.46 before this series too. Pie Chucker TBH.

Strauss given not out, but Pakistan have referred. Looks like a massive knick into his body before being caught behind the wicket, so 2 quick wickets for Pakistan and the under pressure Pietersen has to come out and face the music. Come on Kevin!

If I was Andy Flower, I'd put my arm around Cook and tell him to go back to Essex and score runs to get him into form for the winter, and get Carberry some Test experience.

Never thought I'd say this after some terrible reviews in the first Test, but good review there by Pakistan.

Just promote Trott. He's number 3 for England and he plays for Warwickshire. So he's used to coming in early anyway.
You then have the problem of who bats 3 don't think you would get the best from KP there, the only other option is Bell I suppose and that didn't work out too well last time.

Pakistanis have bowled a lot better after tea, pitched it up a bit more, and not so many wide deliveries, may have been trying to hard first up.

Could still be a contest, if they could bat better in the second dig.

Swear Cook had a run of form like this not too long ago where everybody was jumping on his back and then he went and nailed 7 50s in a row or something didn't he?
Not saying he'll do that again, just such massive troughs of form from one of your openers happening so regularly isn't ideal. Especially when he's earmarked as a future captain. Really needs to sort that out.

I reckon Trott could open, but do you fix what isn't broken ? Cook definitely needs to go and work on his game, similar to what Strauss did, what other openers are around the county scene at the moment ? A few people here are big on Carberry obviously, is Mark Butcher still around ? :P

This. Cook struggled for runs for Essex earlier in the season, and he's looked awful in this series. Carbs is in immense form at the minute, having just scored 2 centuries in a game against Durham, might as well give him a go to see if he can handle world class seam bowling. Then, if Cook plays well for Essex he gets on the plane to Australia, if not, we pick someone else, be it Lyth, Key or even Davies. Cook just looks a walking wicket ATM, and I think he'd be best off trying to find his form in the Championship for Essex, and not in a Test match.

Lol.

We saw how Pakistan performed with Yousuf there in Australia.

People seem to remember Younis and Yousuf as if they were absolutely brilliant.
No they werent brilliant..especially not against South Africa and Australia..I have been their harshest critics on this forum. But have you seen how pathetic the current batting order is?? Surely Younis and Yousuf would have been better than Ali, Amin and Umar Akmal and Mallik. Atleast Pakistan would have managed 250 + scores.

At the threat of starting another Tendulkar debate...Tendulkar + Sehwag > Entire Pakistani lineup.

On the other hand, Aamir + Asif >>>>>>> All Indian fast bowling added up in the last two decades.
Please do not associate Tendulkar with such pathetic players.
Sehwag with one hand > Entire Pakistani line up
