This is the first time that 10 per over has been scored in an innings of 35 overs or longer.

Surrey, in fact, managed 496/4 here three years ago. Something about the Oval - but the boundaries aren't even that short today.

How close can Glamorgan get? It's an absolute belter of a batting track.

Ha, that's what happens when a quality batting lineup clicks on a road against a mediocre attack.

Meanwhile, up in sunny Leeds, David Hussey is taking Yorkshire apart, 222*.

Glamorgan were lucky that Roy didn't come in, now that lad really can tonk it. :)

Nice to see a bit of history made, pleased that the good Surrey have turned up this evening. Anyone who's only seen them on Sky this year would think they were having a good season; unfortunately those of us whose sad duty it is to support them have seen far too many dire batting collapses and ineffectual days in the field to know that isn't so.

Davies must've done himself some good with that knock; televised runs counting double and all that.

Ooo Desire by U2 on the montage. Bongo's boys' finest 3 minutes IMHO.

Didn't they say earlier that the innings cut-off time was 6.30? It went on considerably later than that, unsurprisingly. Apparently Lambeth Council want the lights switched off at 9.30 sharp.

Duckworth Lewis job, perhaps?

I hope I can still move like that when I'm 40. Not really sure why I'm still bothering to watch this when there's no food in the house.

Possibly more entertaining than chasing this ****ing spam bot across the forums...

None of us were that surprised when he missed the early games, but since he's come into the side he's added a touch of class to the attack, bowls with a fair bit of hostility and has been putting in some longish spells as well, which is pleasantly surprising for one with his record. Suspect an England recall is still some way off, though.

Does anyone remember that David Brown who is playing for Glamorgan tonight when he made his List A debut for Gloucester a few years ago on the telly? Got a very rapid 63 against, by coincidence, Surrey - Glamorgan certainly need a repeat tonight

Yes, too short and too much room - but with the required rate now over 20 he could have been kept on I suppose.

Not if that last over was anything to go by. 4-0-61-0. Adams to get back on the phone to Moores tomorrow morning I feel and ask for his money back.

That can't have been pleasant as the keeper to see the bat flying in the general direction of your face...

Well the big feller's gone - and I suspect Surrey didn't really believe the game was safe until they got rid of him. Batty's got some exotic figures, 4-0-44-3.

Been an entertaining one-sided arseholing, it must be said.

Cosgrove must drive coaches potty, has so much talent but, well look at him. Even Ollie Milburn might've considered forgoing the extra steak n kidney pudding had he attained that bulk.

Just the little matter of 573 runs scored this evening, then. :D

Welcome two points and a boost to the old net run rate, puts in with a decent chance of making the knock-out stage I suppose.

He's still only 26. If he knuckled down for a few seasons and got himself even halfway fit he'd have a good shot at getting back into the Australia set up considering all the middle order retirements they are due in the next couple of years. I can only guess that the guy either has a medical condition of some kind or just has no desire at all to play international cricket and is comfortable bouncing around in County and State cricket.
