For those more legally minded, I know we had the draft in the early 90's until it was challenged in court and deemed a restraint of trade, but is it possible to reinstate it?

It's only valid in the AFL as their players' association, in the CBA, agrees not to challenge it.

So yeah, if the players and clubs in the NRL consent not to challenge, then it could be brought back.

Won't happen though. Gallop is pretty consistent in his line that one of the strengths of the NRL is that a local player can play in the same district his whole life.

You know, perhaps it's just me, but I find it cringeworthy to see a team like Cronulla get flogged each week, and as a result see them playing in front of crowds with three people and their dog. How is that of any benefit to anybody? I'm no Sharkies fan at all, but getting 40, 50 points put against you doesn't help the club or the league. Sure there will be blowouts, that happens, but I'm not sure if this current system is working.

I know the NRL are looking at putting a team in Perth come 2013, maybe you could offer the Sharks a lifeline and and try push them to move to WA. I would favour a draft type system myself, where by say Brisbane sign Israel Folau then they would have to give Melbourne something in return, and vice versa.

ffs Phil Gould, go die already. The rule is, you have to tackle the kicker, if some dumb **** runs in and doesnt try to tackle, its a penalty. Everyone knows the ****ing rule, so shut the **** up. In a sport replete with dud calls, that may be the single worst video ref call of all time.

The worst thing of all was the other angle they showed immediately after the video ref made his decision, which showed Folau dropped the ball. The questions have to be asked:

- did the video ref ask for that angle?
- did the OB provide him with that angle if asked?
- if he didn't ask for that angle, was he aware it was available?
- if he was aware it was available, why the **** didn't he use it?

Complete farce.

Fantastic game of footy last night (for a neutral at least). There have been some great games this year. Found the whole exchange between Brandy and Daley over Folau's try particularly hilarious. Brandy sounded like he wanted to deck somebody. I just wanted him to deck Daley.
