Now Joe seems to be up to some major research.

Btw,the Jump back over the second world war is getting more difficult with more and more good players who played at both sides of the war getting picked.

By a quick count, England had 14 players who played test cricket before and after WW2, two of whom have already been selected and Australia had 5 such players, one of whom has already been chosen. I think we will be alright, providing we don't keep jumping back and forth a lot.

But the thing is ,that more than half of those players would not be picked in a all-time draft.

The best of the lot have already been picked ,so once we cross into the post world-war 2 era it will be very difficult to come back, specially if the pick that follows such a player is not a player on the other side of the divide.

Though with the sheer number of picks to be made it will get interesting whether we come back or not.

We have 18 people in this draft so 198 players will be selected. I think there are still several of those who played both sides of the war who would be considered in the top 200 cricketers of all time and another couple who wouldn't be far off. I don't think it's all that bad.

It will be quite interesting though if we do hang around pre-WW2 for any length of time. Was a bit disappointed that we started coming forwards again after Barnes was picked.

Yeah Joe is doing some major research from the looks of it lol.

I are serious drafter.

Herbert Sutcliffe

On the evidence of this draft, only the 5th best opening batsman of all time, after Michael Slater, Sunil Gavaskar, Jack Hobbs and Len Hutton.
