Wow Pakistan you know how to add emphatic to a test, love you Pakistan, we BEAT THE AUSSIES, so you, BW can rejoice at last! Please, I beg you.

I have to say though, how nice was it to some proper seam and swing bowling conditions in this series, rather then a flat wicket where 500 plays 450.

Ricky got a few needless boos there.
Indeed. That kind of stuff isn't needed.

Congrats Pakistan, I'm happy for them to win and hopefully that they can perform in the test matches against England, which I hope foxsports are broadcasting!

Australia were pretty poor. We really should of done better than that and hopefully the selectors do something about it. Australia bowled and fielding awsome this morning and we should of bowled with that desperation yesterday.

Butt's english is pretty good to.

Butt seems a very good captain. Has a bit to learn about field placings but at 25 and first test as captain that's to be somewhat expected.

As for the performances... it seems that what happened this test was that every known weakness of Australia (North and the middle order, Johnson in English conditions, Bollinger when he needs to pitch it up) came out at once.

Positives for us... Paine is the big one. He had a near-flawless series behind the stumps, saved a bucketload of byes when Johnson and co were bowling all over the shop. Looks a classy batsman as well, was composed at the crease, decent shot selection given his age/experience. At one moment yesterday he hit a cover drive for 4 and I initially thought it was Clarke who had hit it (which in my eyes is very high praise). Smith also, has an interesting technique and I don't know how good he is against spin (when he isn't smashing them down the ground) but he has a superb temperament, very smart, not being stupid with his aggression to go with his obvious talent. His bowling was also decent as well, not groundbreaking or Warne Mk II by any means (yet ) but had good control, kept things simple and did ask questions of the batsmen and did bowl occasionally some genuinely wicket-taking deliveries. He was underbowled though...

...which is the big unexpected negative, as Ponting's captaincy was dire. Not just the decision to bowl first which even he admits was foolish, but his use of the bowlers and field settings (WHERE WAS THIRD SLIP TODAY) was not good. I hope Clarke has his head around the job, because if this continues he might be getting it soon (presuming that he's the top name on the list and they don't go for Katich for a short time). The other negatives we all really knew about.

TL;DR North's gotta go.

Great win for Pakistan. This win should hopefully do them a world of good going into the future. Salman Butt seems like the natural choice for captain. He seems like a very cool and calm personality with a good head on his shoulders. He's very well spoken too which is great for a captain representing Pakistan on a global stage.

To my Pakistan cricket team, (barring Umar Akmal and Danish Kaneria)

I know often I come across as negative and harsh, but its only because I love you..
All is forgiven :)

So great to see some pitches/conditions which help the quicks. It also sorts out the class batsmen from the rest.

Question for the Pakistan fans: would you bring back either or both of Yousuf or Younis despite their (alleged) disruptive influences or stick with the younger blokes who won this test for you?

If it were up to me I'd bring in Younis for Malik and maybe Yousuf for Amin. Keep Azhar Ali, he looks a good, hard-working player and you need them.
