He's lying. This was dealt with by James after discussion in the mod forum just before I left the mod team, it was made quite clear why he was banned and it was also made quite clear that the ban wouldn't be lifted any time soon.

Shall do - but just so you're aware, even if sledger himself feels two weeks was reasonable doesn't myself, Burgey, Pothas (etc) have to agree....if you think sledger's crime was proportionate to Sir Alex's, you're obviously less bright than you come across. Don't mean to keep banging the same point like but it's true.

I propose banning the act of posting in a thread specifically to talk about how bad a thread it is. Just because it bores me, and bad threads keep getting bumped as a result. And the crap discussion that was going on previously is replaced by an even crapper discussion on whether the original crap discussion was really crap.
As an extension, we could stop people from posting on CW exclusively to talk about how dire CW is. Never really got the deal with that.
