Anyone who says our game is suffering because of loss of players to other codes or England need watch the two games last night. Even without the Broncos playing there were two very high quality games... In all seriousness, they were two evenly fought, challenging games, where the winners weren't decided until the final hooter.

I don't want a sprint race come season end, I want a Lockyer v Marshall field goal competition. Two fantastic field goals this week!
Could not agree more mate. Been some great games of footy this year imo. Particularly last night and the weather made the quality all the more impressive.

Disagree with the second paragraph though, would really like to see who the fastest player is tbh.

Of course the sprint race will be good, but should have a field goal comp also.

Wow, there you go, the Warriors beat Penrith.
Disappointed, but we can look pretty poor in attack when defenses really muscle up like that, so we have losses like that in us imo. Fair play to the Warriors, nothing went right for them and they still defended fantastically in that second half.

Not sure if I should be disappointed in us or in admiration of the Warriors. Probably a bit of both tbh.

Should Greg Inglis leave Melbourne, Brisbane are lining up to be the favourites to sign Inglis. Melbourne will have to pay a part of his salary though. He isn't interested in switching to AFL or going overseas.

It would be a shame to see him leave, but not surprising.

Brisbane already have arguably the second best centre in the game (Hodges).

Getting Inglis would mean tying up approx $1 million in our cap on one position (Hodges' salary + Inglis' salary).

I would much rather leave that money aside for when Lockyer retires probably the end of next year, or another bluechip forward.

I'd be loathe to tie so much of the Cap up in the Centre position.

Inglis is worth around $600,000 if he were to go to Brisbane. So I guess Melbourne would have to chip in a good 40-50% of that for transfer to happen.

Unless they want Inglis for five-eigth..

Brisbane's got plenty of depth in forwards for next year, Hannant, Tronc, Kenny, Thaiday, Parker, Gillett, Anderson, Dodds, McGuire & T'eo is a pretty impressive rotation. There's really no need for another blue-chip forward, especially considering we have Sims there who is yet to finalise what he is doing for next year.

With Folau going and the loss of Hunt the year before and also Winterstein going to the Cowboys next year, we are in the market for centre, and if Inglis is an option we would be stupid not to go after him. Without another top quality centre at the club, we'd have a makeshift one in Glenn, Gillett or T'eo or one of the Under 20 guys like Copely or Gagai.

We'll have a very impressive backline if we can snab Inglis for next year:

1. Hoffman
2. Kemp
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. Yow Yeh
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace

:)

Snare + nab = snab :p

In an ideal world, Inglis and Hodges would be incredible.

I'm just not sure we could afford both, given the restraints imposed by the cap.

Unless :-O

Breaking News - Bruno Cullen to leave Broncos. Can't say I am sad to see him go. I think Andrew Gee will do a great job in his place.

Hindy, WAFG. Chases down and ankle taps a winger.

Anyone know when Joel Reddy traded in his ability for being ********?

Edit: that pass from Thurston - a metre forward and off the deck.

Hayne!! WAFG.. Made Matt Bowen look slow. Man has pace like fire.

Edit: and great hands.

And phenomenal strength.

Origin's over.. The Hayne Train's on the move.

Next stop October

Yes, Brisbane have long worried themselves over the salary cap. You only have to look at the 2000 premiership side..

Ok, it turns out my laptop (the only computer getting the internet) doesn't have Excel, so I can't edit the tipping spreadsheet. I'll have to get it done while bludging at work tomorrow. Till then, here are the coming fixtures.

Round 19

Friday July 16
Rabbitohs vs Dragons
Titans vs Broncos

Saturday July 17
Warriors vs Storm
Panthers vs Eels
Sharks vs Sea Eagles

Sunday July 18
Raiders vs Knights
Roosters vs Bulldogs

Monday July 19
Wests Tigers vs Cowboys

Such a gun round this one. How an NRL draw can be set up where Panthers/Parra only play each other once I'll never know.
