*Official* Bangladesh in England

England once more providing support to their single-handed "keep 50-over cricket alive and interesting" IMO.

Not that it changes a loss that simply shouldn't have been in the question.

Yeah, pleased for Bangladesh and their fans. Still think they'll get stuffed in the last game, but good for them to get that monkey off their backs.

True, they're as responsible as Trott. Doesn't mean I should be praising Trott's innings though, I don't think he's batted well. He might get us home, but it's not been a great innings. We should have had this wrapped up 10 overs ago. Unnecessary pressure has been put on the lower order thanks to Trott batting too slowly. He's done well to hang around, but he should be capable of striking at more than 50 for 90% of his innings.
I think you are being harsh on him...Pressure was put on the lower order THANKS to the top order..Trott actually ensured England get to 230.
Without him it would have been a big defeat.

Thank **** for that, some superb bowling all around nearly ruined by God-awful fielding. Great stuff.

It really annoys me that England keep choosing to field first. What happens when they're put in to bat in a must-win match at the World Cup? They'll have nfi.

A win over a team that has a significant handicap through no fault of their own is not a brilliant win or even close to it.

Let's be honest, pretty much all of the England batsmen are culpable in some form or other, as most of the wickets that fell were due to some pretty stupid shots (apart from Collingwood perhaps, who got a shocker of a decision, but then again it was still 23 balls longer than he should've lasted). Trott is, by some distance, the least culpable of the batsmen on the simple grounds that he actually at least made an innings, although you could fairly argue that he was (far?) too slow during the middle overs. But then again, if England had snatched the victory, you could have quite easily applied exactly the same conclusion to Imrul Kayes' innings for the Banglas.

Obviously though, the point where this match was really lost was when they decided to rest Swanneh for the series.

I agree that picking on Trott is unfair even if criticism of his slow scoring is valid. There are a number of other English batsmen who did more to hurt England's cause than his effort.
