He hasn't taken the lead during this innings at all..

at one point, i thought he could have taken more risk and play some shots..

might be a bit harsh, but it probably says a lot about him if he doesn't.

at least this will put paid to any delusions of granduer that might have been building up in the England camp.

RRR chasing 237 is now up to 12 an over. I just don't get why Trott wasn't more proactive, looking for singles in the middle overs. They were there, and he had his eye in, why couldn't he find them? I just don't understand the thought process behind this innings. He's still only striking at 63, there's barely been an acceleration.

^ I am not sure he is capable of the big shots..Kind of like Raquibul for Bangladesh the other day..he was well set..but just not capable of freeing his arms and going for it.

True, they're as responsible as Trott. Doesn't mean I should be praising Trott's innings though, I don't think he's batted well. He might get us home, but it's not been a great innings. We should have had this wrapped up 10 overs ago. Unnecessary pressure has been put on the lower order thanks to Trott batting too slowly. He's done well to hang around, but he should be capable of striking at more than 50 for 90% of his innings.
