I thought this guy wanted to be bigger than MJ and the rest of them? Obviously wasn't up to the challenge of being an actual King then. Also, for those ****s on ESPN praising him for not taking the max, well Florida has no State tax. These guys are getting far more money than they would be in other states so the sacrificing money to win theory is well out the window.

Officially hoping for a Lakers 3 peat. Watching Lebron shaft his hometown like that made me sick as ****. Still if they do make the Finals would love to see them try and guard Gasol and Bynum, Bosh has always been scared of defending true centres and their roster apart from the top 3 can't do much. They'll get away with their big 3 logging huge minutes while they're young but need to add depth. Unfortunately I can see them adding it over time and there will be a lot of handy vets who'll piggy back their way to a title. Just so pissed off at this whole thing.

Seriously though, Wade is 28 and Lebron and Bosh are 26. That's two superstar wings and a perennial All Star power forward just as they're entering their peak years as athletes. They probably won't have the pieces just yet to destroy all and sundry but Riley is building a team to win 4 or 5 at least. Seriously is killing me.

At least the Knicks still managed to improve today. Thought they raped the Warriors and now they have a very much upgraded team which will be really fun to watch. But yeah the East has really ben beefed up with Amare, Boozer, Wall, Turner and Favors all going there and now with Miami. Could finally be the year when the conferences swap places. If Tony Parker or CP3 get traded East then it's all ****ed up now.

I can see Parker getting moved if the Spurs spiral out of control and Duncan's knees give way. I don't think the Hornets will deal CP3 now that they shifted some cap space and got under the luxury, though if they could get a decent wing back from somewhere and allow Collison to start maybe it's not the worst idea in the world.

And yeah, the East could get big this season. Magic, Heat, Celtics, Bulls, Hawks and maybe the Knicks if they can make another move for a big name in the backcourt could all concieveably win 50+ games.

Can't directly quote the "sauce" but I've read a lot about Paul having drawn up the list of teams he wants to be traded to and sent it off to the Hornets. Apparently the recent salary dumps and then the giveaway of Cole Aldrich told him he was never winning a thing playing for them. Would take a ridiculous, ridiculous offer to get him. Young players, picks and a team willing to take Peja, Okafor or Posey's contracts off their hands would probably do it.

Actually see the Nets as having a lot of potential in possibly accumulating enough here and there and offering Harris, Favors etc.

And regarding the Cavs, apparently there are some major skeletons in the Lebron closet from the time he was there. Judging by Dan Gilbert's sunny disposition it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a fair few things being leaked about the King which could start something.

edit: Heh Gilbert: Lebron quit in the playoffs.

Was reading this article by Bill Simmons before "The Decision", saying how Bosh, Wade, LeBron, and Paul made a pact at the 2008 Olympics.

Maybe Paul joins the Heat in 2012.

Still lol'n at how he announced it.. "This fall I'm umm...going to take my talents to the south beach"

Who says that?

Apparently Kobe used the "I'm going to take my talents.." line when he decided to enter the draft straight from High School.

Been listening to Cleveland talk show all morning. Since he was a free agent, they aren't that mad that he left - they just hate the manner (since he isn't the first free agent to leave). The Brown was incomparable, because not only football more popular, but he took away the entire franchise out of the blue after repeatedly saying he wouldn't. This was the franchise that had given them their last championship - it Jim Brown's Browns FFS.

Modell couldn't even attend funerals in Cleveland because he was afraid for his safety.
