English national football, where do we go from here?

TBF the limited oppo (and it was) did for us in Euro 08 qualifying, so we did perform demonstrably better under Capello than Dutch Schteve.
Yeah, that's true. But it was pretty hard to do any worse. The question is, have England really progressed from the Sven days? The last time I remember England looking truly world-class in every sense was Euro '96.

I've just reduced my post count to 136.

Of course in this case it was a complete nothing that most people wouldn't even have noticed, never mind care about if the self important style moderating hadn't brought attention to it.
Wrong, it got reported. That's what brought it to my attention.

That's fairly revisionist anyway. I love that tournament, but we weren't world-class aside from trouncing the Dutch. We were good second half against Scotland, played well against Germany but the only time we looked like world-beaters was the Holland game. The only other England game I've ever watched from my lifetime that was as good was the 5-1 in Munich.

Just because something's reported it doesn't automatically require intervention, especially when the two concerned had not continued it and it had happened a while ago. That is unless Uppercut reported it himself which doesn't seem likely considering that he made the first insult.

Is this about the post where you called someone "a little thick" after first being called an idiot? If it is then it does seem a little excessive and overbearing.

Like I said already. It was two posts that would soon have been forgotten but for unnecessary attention being drawn to them.

Fire the Italian and hire a German coach.
Need some German players, tbh. In fact our best player at the 2006 WC was a German (by way of Canada) & we tried to tap up Aaron Hunt of Werder Bremen (English mum) so we're at least trying.

My mate Wishy (Wiesniewdzke) assured me there were three "pure" Poles in the German squad - he was a tad excited at the time so I didn't ask what "pure" meant but assume he meant there were others with Polish ancestry

Apart from Ozil's Turkishness, there's some Polish blood in there somewhere isn't there?
11/23 could've played for someone else:

Aogo (Nigerian father)
Tasci (Turkish parents)
Khedira (Tunisian father)
Ozil (Turkish parents)
Podolski (Polish birth/parents)
Klose (Polish birth/mother)
Trochowski (Polish birth)
Cacau (Naturalised Brazilian)
Boateng (Ghanian father)
Marin (Bosnian birth/parents)
Gomez (Spanish father)

But, tbf, only really Cacau isn't a proper German. All the other were either born in or moved to the Fatherland at a very early age.
