Bresnan's last match/series?
Probably not due to limited alternatives. But clearly his bowling doesn't merit continued selection in our preferred XI, and you'd imagine he'd be cannon fodder given the location of the next WC.

If Flintoff ever did get fit, it's be a no-brainer. Sticking with reality though, I wonder if we'd be better off with a proper number 6 and hoping that Wright & Collingwood could do a job between them as the 5th bowler.

Or drop Bresnan, bring in Davies and move Strauss or Kieswetter to 3. Leaves us with an XI of:

Kieswetter
Davies
Strauss
Pietersen
Collingwood
Morgan
Yardy
Wright
Swann
Broad
Anderson

Ah well, I suppose it knocks some of the OTT crap that we've read lately on the head.

Fact is there are a lot of weaknesses with the side - KW isn't actually that great, KP's been ordinary for a couple of years now, Wright/Yardy's batting a place too high at 6, and our opening bowlers are substandard.

78 runs then. Proper arseholing.

Worrying that the first real target we've chased has been a disaster.

Harris surely sown up MotM with his Michelle.

Funny how a team that has already lost a series can have less problems than the winners

Replace Hopes with Johnson and things are on the up again for Oz

Eng need an opener (and therefore wk), no. 6 and an opening bowler

Someone's going to quote Trott's List A record in a moment. Maybe he's a better bet at 3 and only play one of the keepers.

Bres safe for a while, I think, unless they really rate Shahzad. He's better then Wright anyway, would rather he went. Bresnan was the only one that stood firm last match. Could be looking at losing this series without him.

Yet having said that he (tiny Tim) ain't much cop, but I'm English and I'm used to mediocrity:)

With the series decided and our unbeaten record gone, they should make a couple of changes for the last game. Sidebottom for Bresnan and Bell for Wright.

Woakes in for Bresnan, IMHO.

As for opener and #6...?

Trott or Bell I guess are options to open, but obvz neither keeps.

Trott gets bogged down far to easy in domestic list a's nevermind odi's. His record is so good due to the fact he has quite a few big not outs in easy chases.

Well yes a straightforward drubbing but frankly I find it hard to be heartbroken at 3-1. 4-1 would be nice and would be an appropriate spirit-lifter after the footie.

I would keep the faith with Kieswetter. A big talent, and I'd rather we started giving our keeper a fair crack for once. Impressed with what I saw of Davies on the telly the other night though.

Harris seems a nice chap. Genuinely modest.

Can tell his folks are English too, there's a decent accent in there struggling to get out.

Yeah, Clarke & Punter aside there's no proper pantomime villains. With the latter it's more for past dummy-spits these days as well.
Well there's Ruggeh Bollinger, and Peter Siddle to return. You're right about Chimpy, he's mellowed visibly over the last couple of years and began to show a likeable side.

Yeah, Ponting's generally impressed me lately whenever he's been interviewed. I certainly think it's a bit mean of Zaremba to keep up the Darwen avatar in response to the Aus skipper.
