tbf even Hameed and Asim Kamal should be history.I rate Umer Amin and Asad Shafiqe quite highly and feel they can forge a good career if given proper chances.

Well, its the mess that PCB has created by not bringing in young players at the right time. Had they been pro active enough, Hameed and Asim Kamal should have been in this side as well settled and proven prospects. But they wanted to stick with the likes of Misbah, Malik, Farhat for the important overseas tours. These players barely bat well on flat decks let alone on seaming tracks.
I feel even with Umar Amin and Asad in the side they can manage to put Hameed and Asim in. Get rid of Malik and Farhat. Hameed can open and Asim in the middle.

In fairness that is something that would be said by someone who wants the captaincy.

Of course, i am not going to say that it is incorrect or Afridi should not have said that. But just as an FYI to what Xuhaib said before about the friendliness between them both. Afridi seems either too honest or he has joined the wannabe group of malik and farhat.
Its hard to see how Afridi can say that about YK when in his current camp there is the biggest culprit of all Malik.....

This tour I personally feel that they are doing the right thing so far, giving some young people chances but also giving responsibility to those who deserve it, come on Fawad!

The treatment of Fawad has been disgusting.
He made a century on debut, and has then been given chances infrequently, while crap players like malik, misbah and iqbal were persisted with.
On top of that he is one of the few pakistani players that can field the ball.

Nothing new. In fact as much as i hate to bring in the topic of ethnic discrimination, PCB is a load of crape. Even though i am from Punjab. Players like Asim Kamal, Fawad Alam have been always treated this way. Not only Karachi players, players from Khyber Pakhtoonkhwah and other areas are also discriminated against. This tells you why players like Farhat and Malik are always in the team and good proven prospects like Asim, Fawad, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Zahid, Hameed, and many others were never given a proper chance and were kicked out at a hint of bad performance....this also tells you why players revolted against Miandad when he was the captain.....I hate it but its true and we still see it and see it more and more...otherwise who in their right mind would bring in a player like Farhat to open in tests....

Those days are gone when even thugs had some rules or ethics so to say! PCB and especially the upper management just want to see **** burning....
Just a reflection of what pretty much every government institution of Pakistan is.

Nah I think reigonal bias is overstated.Both Faisal and Sami are from karachi and they got their full share of chances I think its more to do with general corruption and nepotism as long as you have good contact with the higher ups you are secured wether you are from Karachi,Lahore or Peshawar does not make a difference.

the poor guy was given chances in 20/20 matches.. he was asked to bat at number 7 where he had to face 10 to 12 deliveries.. our PCB chairman wanted him to make century from 10 to 12 deliveries.. Fawad failed.. so he was dropped for test matches.. haha lol
a bunch low life uneducated PCB morans..

I think if you break it down. then in Punjab mostly its the parchi system. For Players from Karachi or other areas, there has to be a very strong parchi to get in provided that they are from other areas.
may be now its a bit low but over all i think it has a significant role to play in mistreatment of some of the players.

This issue is not regional. The issue is about contacts and nepotism. What has happened is, there are more powerful people of influence from Punjab, mainly Lahore..hence people from that area have stronger and more contacts..
Fawad's case is definitely a sad one. Fawad even scored a century agaisnt Sri Lanka..ultimately Younis lost his own support and Fawad lost his backing. Mallik and Farhat have tremendous contacts and hence make their way. If you look at PCB, even Mr Ijaz Butt's qualification to be the head of PCB is contacts.
PCB is simply part of the larger problem in Pakistan..PCB can be looked as the simulation model.. all the problems with PCB exist on a much larger scale in the country starting from A.A Z. Anyway, dont want to get political but its hard when talking about cricket in Pakistan...they are mixe.
