This has probably been one of the better spells I've seen Benn bowl. Thoroughly deserves the wicket of Smith

Just watched the session highlights, and Benn looking like a Test bowler today. Very encouraging.
Yeah because he never did before when he got his 5fer against Australia, a 4fer against England and another 5fer against the same South Africa side he's facing today right? ,

I've never suggested that Benn doesn't look like a Test bowler sometimes. My issue has been that he too often does not. Hopefully he can bring more consistency to his game. Surely we can agree on that. You're a fan of consistency, right?

Well from what i can see he's been "consistent" ever since we beat England at Sabina park to be honest, he's taking wickets with regularity now and the fact that he's doing it against all the top sides is even more encouraging, when he first made his debut he was as shocking as Harris, but now he looks like a totally different player.

Well that's because you watch cricket with a certain tint of spectacles. But that's beside the point, he's doing well for West Indies right now and I think we can both support that. I just sense you disagree though.

Yeah i disagree because i was defending Benny all along while you was slagging him off and calling for Miller to take his place!! , i might "watch cricket through tint spectacles" but at least i don't flip flop Mr M!! .

And Benn's got his 3rd wicket!!, what a spell the man is having.

You're aware that this is a public forum and everyone knows that your perspective is skewed right? Yes? Cool.

Come on Benn, let's get that average under 42 while the going is good.

No need for the sour grapes Mr M!! , you were banging on about "Benn is crap"..."Benn isn't even the best spinner in the region"..."Miller is much better".. blah blah blah, i think it's obvious who's perspective was "skewed" in this case Mr M!!, cause it certainly wasn't mine.

55.5 - Roach to de Villiers, no run, 146.3 kph, review! West Indies ask Steve Davis to reconsider his decision. Oh they don't go for the review! They have well and truly missed AB de Villiers here! Length ball outside off, AB is looking to leave it, and on the way it kisses the toe of the bat. AB doesn't move. Davis doesn't move. There is a sound! Everyone goes up for it, but after a long discussion they don't go for it!

81.4 - Bess to de Villiers, no run, 138.4 kph, back of a length, pretty short actually, nips back and stays low a touch, there is an appeal for lbw, but not given. Replays show that had they asked for the review, this was plumb, and Davis would have been forced to change his decision. No edge, hitting middle and off, and not high either

Lucky chap!

Sour grapes? I'm not the one living in the past, and a subjective past at that. :p

I just want to support West Indies. Why don't you?

Things certainly didn't go our way today in terms of luck and umpiring decisions (we had to get De Villiers out 3 times and even then he didn't walk!), but I thought we stuck at it really well and looked a decent side. It was encouraging to hear the noise around the bat for most of the day rather than just when the going was good.

Benn looks really good at the moment, Shilly is still spinning the ball but looks tired to me, Roach was superb and Bravo was extremely miserly.

As for Bess, you can see that he has something we can work with but its waaaaaaay too early for him and it's just unfortunate that we are having to blood someone like him so early.

We can learn a lot from the South African attitude to batting. Even though they can play shots when required, they put it in their locker if the game situation dictates they need to knuckle down. Deonarine needs to watch Prince closely IMHO, just because you have alot of shots at your disposal doesn't mean you have to try and play them all in quick succession.

"Living in the past"? erm no i'm merely highlighting your flip flopping Mr M!! , you ran Benn down left, right and centre and now you wanna jump on the bandwagon? nah i had to tell you some home truths i'm afraid!!, and my support for WI isn't in question so don't try and sidetrack the main issue Mr M!!, that's just plain sneaky!! .

How is it flip flopping to say that he's bowling well right now? I never once said that he never bowls well or will never bowl well. Honestly, sir. Are you deprived of arguments at home? There, there.

|It's most unfortunate for WI cricket that Prince chose this innings to play himself into form with the bat....

Erm even after his performances against England and Australia you were dissing him, saying "he will never be Test class".. but now all of a sudden you've changed your tune? 8-) yep that's what i call flip flopping Mr M!!, just admit your judgment was poor and keep it moving man, no need to catch feelings over it!! .

Haven't seen them, but surely they can't have been that bad a decision if the fielders weren't prepared to ask for a review?

The caught beind incident can be forgiven as they have had bad experiences when referring those before (Strauss hit the cover off one and was given not out by Harper last year). They don't have hot spot available so it would have been a risky referral.

But the lbw was absolutely plumb, awful umpiring and equally awful decision making not too refer it. Bess is on debut and was never going to demand a referral but Ramdin should have stepped in and told Gayle it was plumb.
