That's pretty cool, bowling with one hand and throwing with the other. Have you ever caught someone off guard and run them out?I bowl, write and bat left handed and throw right handed.
Time to punt the punter
I believe it was Nasser Hussain who was lavishing praise on his captaincy during the Australian "comeback" today. So many things wrong with that game. I choose to blame Ponting.
Top order has been bad but Oz nearly won because we had 3 quality pace bowlers out there for a change rather than 1 or 2Clearly the issue is with Ponting, Clarke and Hussey rather than the injuries.
I didn't think his captaincy was that great....I believe it was Nasser Hussain who was lavishing praise on his captaincy during the Australian "comeback" today.
You wouldn't be saying that if Bresnan missed the ball rather than edging it.I didn't think his captaincy was that great....
In my opinion, Ponting could've bowled Tait more than 2 overs in first spell. You wouldn't be saying that if Bresnan missed the ball rather than edging it.
Ponting's captaincy was great in this match trying to defend a low total. Using Tait for 2 over spells paid off nicely because he was able to bowl fast consistently and gave us an outside chance of winning this match when he took late wickets. Botham was complaining why Ponting didn't have 2 slips, but no ball ever went in that direction so Ponting was right. Some here are also critisizing him for not having a strike bowler bowl the last over, but what other choice did he have? He had to bowl the strike bowlers early otherwise England were just going for a comfortable victory, And it almost worked.
I really can't understand why Ponting gets criticized on his captaincy, really one of the best the game has ever seen,
But why? We all know he drops off the pace after 2 overs. Australia could never have got this close if Tait bowled a longer 1st spell. In my opinion, Ponting could've bowled Tait more than 2 overs in first spell.
His captaincy was good (not excellent for me), really good.. But I would have definitely gone with Smith for that last over... On the basis of that game and this series, he is the better bowler compared to Hopes... And he had picked up wickets...You wouldn't be saying that if Bresnan missed the ball rather than edging it.

Two overs is very short though. Even if we are looking at 3-2-2-3 (or 3-3-3-1), it turns five spells into four which must be far easier to captain.Yeah Tait might be able to bowl 4 overs at the start of the match at a decent pace but then he'd be buggered for his back 6, this seems to be the best way to use the guy.
