Ftr, reckon Tait is a good bowler. But he's a soft ****.

Just can't fully respect him again after his reaction when he got hammered by India in 2007/08/

Yay! Social starts shifting goal posts as usual. you said he was the best in that world cup, I said he was not.

Obviously with a pathetic attempt at troll trying to bring in India/blah blah..
Never said he was the best and your bolded, selective quotes cant change that

"Just about" = "one of"

Anyway, I'm done with discussing Tait with you as, to be frank, you're clueless

You're no better than Sir Alex.

Sorry, childish on my part to compare the record of the Indian WC to Tait's after a troll compared Tait to a couple of ridiculously inferior bowlers from that country

Shouldnt have risen to the bait :)

What is the point of any cricket match really? I don't get all the complaining regarding this series, just sit back and enjoy it for what it's worth. Plus playing a lot of one-day cricket before the world cup can only be a good thing.

The main issue with this series is scheduling it at the same time as Wimbledon and the World Cup though. Not a lot of sense having it at the same time of two of the biggest sporting events in the world. Not saying cricket should be dictated by other sports, but should make an exception here.
Largely agree, but from an English POV we'd normally be playing the team who played the May tests in ODIs now. If you want anyone at all to tune in you might as well make them half-decent (I'll resist the obvious joke) and it's not like we're wasting a proper Ashes tour on WC year.

I believe that the 'actual' point of this series was because we're only playing six Tests this summer so needed to make up some days to meet contractual obligations to Sky.

Oh and btw the last two Ashes series have been great fun on here and on the most part (the odd incident aside) there has been a good spirit in the threads. If this is a sign of things to come this winter though, then I'm dreading it.

It should be noted that a lot of the bad blood in the thread seems to stem from an India fan.

****ing Augustus.

Pretty stingy odds on Oz, tbh. Know we've got a long history of having our arses handed to us by them, but this Australia have as weak a bowling attack as I can recall & we actually have two world-class batsmen in this line up. Neither of whom are strictly English, but hey; outsourcing is the 21st C way.

Tait should def help 'Stralia tho.

Australia finally underdogs pre-match.

2.06 Australia on Betfair. England 1.96.
Depending on the lineups, time to back Oz

Kieswetter vs Bollinger, Harris and Tait = early wicket

Strauss vs Bollinger, Harris and Tait = not a lot of runs at a slow pace

Wright at 6?

Wright bowling?

Yardy bowling?

England's opening bowlers?

Swann's bowling?

And surely someone will start belting Broad's wayward crap at the death

I'm a believer

Tbf, I thought he received treatment fo depression round that time. Can't properly recall though - may have been the supporters.

Have to say, find it a tad ironic that England finally seem to be really getting the hang of 50 over cricket just as the version is looking likely to be phased out :p

To get the time for Australian games, do we add 10 hours to GMT time? Does the game start at 7:45pm AEST time?

EDIT: Tomorrow, of course.

I'm really hoping that Ryan Harris is fit. Australia needs him in the team IMO, if they want to win.

It is stupid to assume Tait at his peak isn't lethal
It is also stupid to assume Tait is anywhere near that peak
