Is scoring centuries, or some other form of milestone, relevant to the link between the three players?

Yup I think I know the additional criteria (I think
Andy Flower
might've had it happen to him in a test match) though will see if someone else can piece the clues together.
Its quite possible you've done a Murphy but Andy Flower doesn't fit in with the criteria I had in mind

Yeah, sorry. Should've been clearer. I meant the individual's innings.

So "up to a point"... is only one of the scores important? Other than the second being a century as well of course.

Hmm ok - my answer would've been those players have all scored 2 100s in a first class match and still ended up losing (Flower having done so in a test). Might have to dig a bit deeper if thats incorrect.

My turn to apologise - all that is relevant is that they are centuries

Is the number of other 100s scored by another player in the match relevant?

If so, is the link that each of those 3 players have scored 2 100s in a match, and had that reciprocated by an opposition player?

At least that time I went down the right track to get the answer. :) Also interesting though that in other matches in their career they manged 2 100s in the same match and still lost, in Hobbs' case to Cambridge University!

My question is:
A great cricketer of my time, I might well be confused for someone else today. Who am I and why might there be this ambiguity?
