Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

Magrat Garlick

Rather Mad Witch
Casting vote to me then...in an attempt to keep up NZ interest, Crowe 11, Klusener 10, R Taylor 4

Miller won 18-7.

Battle Thirteen

Mike Hussey (1975-)

3,912 runs in 50 Tests for Australia; 140 ODIs
Debuted in Test cricket aged 30, with more than 15,000 first class runs under his belt, and spent 166 days making his first 1,000 runs
Has a more moderate record since, but still has a batting average north of 50 in both Tests and ODIs, the only player to do so

Chris Cairns (1970-)

3,320 runs and 218 wickets in 62 Tests for New Zealand; 215 ODIs
Attacking all-rounder, New Zealand's third-highest wicket taker as well as a more than useful batsman
A 17-year international career, but injuries kept him from more than four Tests per year

Cricketer Of The Year
Cairns, don't much like him but he's not a crim.....
This.

Zero love for Hussey. Mr Cricket blah blah blah sincere intense zinc creamed facial expression hour after hour in the nets blah blah yawn etc.

One of the great glories of world cricket over the past year or two has been the demolition of his weirdly inflated Test average. Good player, don't get me wrong, and without the ridiculous haircut as per Chris Cairns, but, to the non Australian observer, appealing player he ain't.

Cairns. Loved watching the big fella bat; wonderfully simple MO: see it, hit it.

EDIT: Surprised at the Crowe love, tbh. Stylish bat but always thought he was a bit of a bell end myself.
