Guess my female cousin is going to play some WNBL tonight at uni.

Don't see why it's such a big issue though tbh. I agree it sounds stupid to refer to Aussie Rules as AFL, but I can understand why people do it.

Can accept Aussie Rules being called football TBH. Enough foot in it to warrent it. Plus it looks an awesome sport, despite the fact I have NFI of the rules bar aim towards some big poles and get more for between the middle ones (mind.... that looks like all the rules to me, everything else goes)

There did apear to be some other rules but I had no clue what was going on, everyone kept shouting 'hands in the back' or something. Seems to be their equivalanet to 'hand ball' as the foul that the crowd always calls.

Was pretty good to be fair though, would probably watch it if they showed it over here.

I honestly call both AFL and soccer "football" in casual conversation. Never really had any dramatic social dilemmas arise out of the resulting confusion. I'll be watching the football tonight when the World Cup is on and I'll also watch Adelaide play football on Saturday against the Hawks.

Don't like it, Murphy? I'll meet you down the bike racks any time.
