Being favourites in a game like that is poison though. Bookies making you favourite doesn't make your chances any better, and makes the feeling of losing worse.

But being favourite means if I bet on whoever is against us, and we lose, I get a bigger payout.

There have been times I've bet on us before (yes I know, talk about stupid) but this was only when we were value:
-prematch vs. Freo, and was able to trade out when we were 5 goals up
-half time vs. Adelaide, which was a good bet until the last 15 minutes of the last quarter
-5 minutes into the Port match, where I knew the wet weather would favour us. And we won :)

Each time we were underdogs by a fair bit.

Whereas here, West Coast could easily beat us, despite them being **** as well, so I'll happily put a bit on them.

Other times I've bet against us were when we played Essendon (:() and Melbourne.
