*Official* Zimbabwe Tri-Series (Zimbabwe, India, Sri Lanka)

Personally dont see anything wrong with the policy. They may not have got to the finals but they've got a fair idea of what to expect from their youngsters at this sort of level. Now they can pick and choose whom to add to the team among both the senior players and younger players.
This may very well be a means to that end, throwing untried players at what they perceive as a throwaway tri-series with no real repercussions from doing badly in. That remains to be seen, though. Right now it is just a source of ridicule, or is being ignored completely.

Good stuff on fast bowlers in the session break now on Ten Sports involving Allan Donald. Discussing Bond, Steyn, Lee etc.

Taylor is so good.. Dead rubber/Friendly victories or not, Zimbabwe have had a mightily impressive year.. Even if they go on to lose this game and the final, they have definitely commanded the respect they are starting to deserve..

Personally think Ashwin could possibly be a useful player for India in the near future, not sure of the rest. Guys like Yadav it's too early for them really.

Anyway very impressive stuff from Zimbabwe.

Yadav was picked on the fact that he bowls occasionally in the 140kph region, was always a disaster - he's never done it consistently in the domestic circuit and is still quite new anyway.

Plus points for SL up to now is the form showed by Randiv, Fernando and Thushara. Randiv is bowling with guile and latter two producing some pace. The pitch was not assisting fast bowling at all, but these two were able to beat batsmen for pace.

Indian and Pakistani bastmen will find these two interesting to handle on normally juicy Dambulla track in the Asia cup.

I think spinners on the whole looked fairly all right for the series so far. Also Dilshan seems like he's found some sort of form again.

Taylor is so good.. Fantastic to see from Zim.. I know they are playing weakened sides, but you also look at the fact that there are less than 10 million people in Zimbabwe, and they basically lost all their players in the early part of the decade.. Great to see the fight is still there..

About 11 Million at the turn of the century, we've got a couple of million here now though.. The numbers playing the game there are high though, which is encouraging.. But yeah, it always amazes me how countries like India can still not win so many competitions despite having such an advantage in terms of people to pick from
