Exactly,we have lacked a guy capable of knocking over the tail for years. He is obviously very raw but he looks to have more to work with than his county teammate Bresnan at test level.Yea the promising thing about Shazhad from an England point of view is he looks like someone who can a) bowl with the old ball and b) knock over tailenders. Obviously a bit different to the other seamers.
Of course.Ah, thank god for that. Would much rather watch Tamin bat then Strauss and co. No doubt with this being the first innings I get to watch live of this series he'll finally fail though.
I think any infrastructure in isolation will struggle, these players need experience of different conditions. I think to some degree every country struggles to give good experience of every situation, Bangladesh is just particularly limited in that regard. For instance a decade or so in particular there were few good wrist spinners in County Cricket and that was reflected in England's international side.Well Bangladesh have been playing tests for around 10 years now and have two test-class players (Tamim and Shakib), which is two more than they've ever had previously but obviously not enough to seriously compete at this level. Maybe in another ten years time they will be competitive, but I seriously worry that the cricketing infrastructure and domestic set up in Bangladesh just isn't conducive to producing quality test cricketers.
