Was looking for confirmation elsewhere to be fair. I've only seen highlights and even then I've not managed to see them every day.
It was a chance but wasn't a regulation one like the sort Jones was missing before he was dropped. To be fair to him he has made himself an adequate keeper it is just his batting has gone awry, seems to be trying to smash the ball too hard too early in his innings every time.

What do the CW members think is behind Shahadat's shocking lack of pace. He has a good action, good run up and then it all goes to crap. I think Lloyd may have been right in pinpointing the release as an area of concern. However, this unusual release does make the ball unusually move from time to time, but I'm sure he'll sacrifice that, if he returns to the 90mph pace that he once had, IIRC.

He had 90mph? When?

We hired the former bowling coach of Sri Lanka, He told shahadat to change his action or else it would lead to permanent back problems, before the start of the India Series, he said we went back to his old action he had a couple of odd balls that went 138-40 but mostly 128-130 crap.

YouTube - Shahadat Hossain bowling clips - His Bowling from 4 years ago just notice the pace not the crap line and length especially at the end

Whats funny is when he took his 6/27 vs SA the gun read 125-130 but he was hitting them on the pad so frequently it looked alot faster

IMO, he has a very average action which explains why he varies greatly in pace and accuracy

Pfft, they should still be playing. Sun's back out and there's about three drops of rain on the ground.

If Shahadat's bowling action has been remodeled for safety issues, then that is sad.

This might sound a little uncaring, but I think bowling has been hugely damaged by coaches altering people's actions to the extent that everyone becomes the same, and variety is taken out of the game.

His action was re-modeled. He had a semi-open chested delivery stride which was similar to Harmison's, (but bit more close chested than Harmison), and was hitting 144k, and Ponting's head as well. Somehow the "pundits" changed it, now he looks frank ****.

The Board needs to get Shafiul on good weight lifting program, no cricket just exercise and nutrition for 60 days or so. He's so skinny but is faster than Rubel in my opinion and has his basics already done.

6-7 Overs of Mashrafe w/ the New Ball is best option for tests. 12-15 overs per Innings 1 spell per new ball.

Shahadat is better 1st Change anyway

11th Test Century for Ian Bell. Fantastic knock. More runs for Bell when England actually need them. Came in under pressure and has played beautifully. Proved the doubters wrong yet? 72 at The Oval, was our best player in South Africa and now he's played this innings. Belly.
