Karthik's a sweetheart, isn't he? Thoroughly ageeable and modest young man. :)

Sussex 20 runs short for mine. Disappointed Joe "Dad Used To Play For The Arsenal" Gatting didn't hang around for long.
Was completely opposite character in his early days. One of the reason why he is constantly overlooked by our selectors. He got thrown out of NCA iirc.

 Epic start for Essex. Why Napier is being persisted with at 3 in the T20 side is beyond me. He's not a batsman. He's living off the century against Sussex 2 years ago. Should let him focus on his bowling. Need RTD and Matty Walker to get a few.

Yeah, Stevens got tonked a bit in his 2nd over but that was always on the cards.

Another wicket and Essex could fall short of 100. Hope it doesn't happen, I want to see a good game.

That is one heck of a 50 from Tendo. Broken a roof, and now one of the buildings inside the ground at the River End. Given the situation when he came in it has been one hell of a counter-attack. Brilliant stuff.

Is it me or is Amjad's slower ball one of the most telegraphed going? I'm picking it from me sofa before he bowls it.

Been a super knock from RtD. Just mullered 16 off the first 3 balls off Amjad's last over.

EDIT: & run out on 98 trying to keep the strike. WAG.

What an innings that was. Shame he went for 98 really, deserved a century. His power straight down the ground is unreal, has a perfect follow through and the ball sails miles. Could he play for England if he proved himself to be good enough? Or does he still have a while left to become eligible?

Not a UK citizen AFAIK so we wouldn't consider him.

Fair enough.

Wicket for Napes. Good to see. Not bowling as quickly as I've seen him in the past, but still bowling at a handy pace around 86mph. Interesting to see Foster standing up to Napier too, he's brave.
