*Official* Bangladesh in England

Echoes of Bell/Thorpe/Pietersen in 2005, though. There was no way Bell was going to be dropped after hitting 162* at Durham.

Collingwood's missing the 2nd Test as well I think, so Bell's still got time to make a big score. There is no way his place should be under-pressure after his efforts over the Winter. He was probably our best batsman over the Winter; would be ludicrous if he was dropped in favour of Morgan, just because of a century against Bangladesh.

I agree, but these things happen. Can you remember a batsman being dropped after making a ton? Thorpe had averaged 56 since coming back into the side at the Oval in 2003, but that didn't save him.

Point is that balls quite often look like going for the stumps, but sail over them in the end. I've seen that so many times during practice.
Yea people have to realise that the angle you get live on TV and from where the umpire/bowler are is not conducive to making judgement calls over whether the ball will go over the stumps or not. Hell they go to the square leg umpires for bouncers, why they're not used for lbws like the one Cook got is utterly beyond me.

Lucky for Bell that Morgan didn't make a century then.

Yeah, think that really is a decent thing for England, it's a nice start from Morgan, and he IS the future for England IMHO, but it's not going to put big pressure on the selectors to change the batting line-up for future series, which they shouldn't really.

Prior's not found any timing at all in this innings. Every shot he's played has come off the splice and he's not looked in any sort of form. I'm sure that'll improve if he stays there though.

Morgan is much cooler than Bell though, so you wouldn't back him to secretly be ****e the way Bell was.

hmmm, probably should have been 2 there, but not sure you can blame Trott, Prior didn't exactly look as he turned he just charged off

Glorious Double century for Trott. Been a fine innings. First double ton from an England player since KP's against the West Indies in 07 isn't it?

So refreshing to see Trott back in the form I remember him for... in all his Aussie dream-crushing glory.

We gonna declare at 500 or just keep batting till we're all out? I'm hoping we get 'em in as early as possible. Looking forward to seeing Anderson and Finn bowling.

Edit: Forget that. Happy to watch Swanneh bat for the rest of the day. WAG.
