Semi Finals/Final - Australia, Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan

What a game and what a win! I'm really pleased I stayed up and watched that, Hussey is an absolute freak and the win feels even better with all these people writing us off. The cup is ours, go the Aussies!

Crazy stuff. Pretty hilarious reading the last few pages of this thread though. I really don't understand how two seven ball overs were allowed. Surely the third umpire could intervene in the (seemingly, but apparently not) unlikely event that both on-field umpires simultaneously experience counting difficulties? An extra delivery is a pretty big deal in Twenty20.

Just because they are the rules doesn't mean they are right or fair.

It was fair!! 8-) , if we'd have batted first it would have happened to us too, at the end of the day we had a testy run chase to get and it was up to England's bowlers to do something about it, they failed.

What's this about 7 ball overs?

Johnson to Kamran Akmal, no run, 140.6 kph, leans forward to drive to mid-off . Seventh ball of the over. Not sure whether we missed any no-ball call

............

0.7

Mohammad Aamer to Haddin, no run, 127.2 kph, hmm another over with an extra ball .... pushed out to covers. .
Happened to both teams at least.

FFS, trust Windie to turn this into a thread about West Indies.

I know you can't say "Semi Finals/Final - Australia, Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan" without "West Indies" but..... oh wait.......

Looking forward to the final.Easily the two best sides in the tournament in it and should be a cracker. Both sides have plenty of batting depth so i guess any run chase is possible with either unit.

Bring it on.:)

Australia just don't know when they're dead, do they? Gotta hand it to them, their self belief is amazing. Beggars anyone's belief that Hussey snr wasn't in the original squad tho.

And every other nation as Australia are the only team who have an outstanding tournament win record.
Yes, too right, Aussies seem to be born winners with the courage and self-belief that cricketers from the other nations don't have. It should be bottled.

Monday morning is the dream matchup between the Aussies and England. The latter is due but must show the same determination and wherewithal in a crisis that Australia does on a regular basis.

Oz warm favs by my and the bookies' estimations: oddschecker.

Oz 4/7
Eng 11/8

Think we're better value, tbh, but not confident. Seems weird to say we haven't been tested yet as we don't have a 100% record, but we haven't. All our wins have been serene and, without wishing to play the poor loser, our loss was a case of being diddled by the system rather than a dodgy performance as such.

I'd have really fancied your chances against Pakistan. But against Australia on the Barbados pitch I'd be steering well clear of 11/8.
