Group D - West Indies, England, Ireland

Really need to get after Rankin here. Just can't seem to get the medium pace away.

Ok Luke, or not. Just smack it to cover.

Just checked George Dockrell's Cricinfo profile and he has some pretty awesome batting statistics. Averages 0.00 in ODi's, 0.00 in T20i's, 0.50 in List A's and 0.00 in T20's. Quality stuff. Excellent T20 bowling figures though, looks a talented bowler for a 17 year old.
Hands off!

Only 5 off the over. Good bowling from Rankin, but not great batting. Could do with Bresnan launching a few out of the park.

Doesn't look like we're getting to 125-130 unless Morgan has a blinder in the last over. Just have to hope the rain stays away, as if D/L gets involved they'll barely have to chase anything.

Bresnan; eeeuww, eeeuw, eeeuw. Why's he batting ahead of Swanneh & Broad?

Some irony in an Irishman being our only hope of salvation too. Were he playing for his home nation, etc....

112/6 with an over to come. We're gone, IMHO.

Well you were wrong. :p

West Indies scored those runs thinking they'd have 20 overs to bat, but they actually only had 6, so they're adjusted to take account of the heightened risk they would've taken had they known. That's why the target was smaller than most thought it'd be. Two overs of going of going at 13s or whatever when the RRR was about 9 means a ****load in a 6-over contest.
DWTA Prince. Unless DL has undergone significant change in the last year with respect to it's core concept, I don't think runs already scored by the chasing team are figured into determining the REVISED TARGET. In other words West indies could have well been 0-0 after 2.2 overs yesterday and they still would have to chase 60 in 6 overs (of course obviously harder task than yesterday's but nothing to do with DL) However had they lost 2 wickets, they'd be chasing 72 afaic.

Would love to be proved wrong, particularly with a 'For Dummies' example. :p

Yeah, but I won't be complaining if that happens this time, we've batted really poorly and deserve to go out.

Well, on the bright side if you look at the T20 batting averages of Ireland there doesn't appear to be much strength there. Let's just hope we bowl well and make them earn it.

I won't be complaining, but it'll certainly be frustrating. I thought England stood a geniunely good chance of winning this tournament. We just seem to bottle it when it really matters.

Morgan goes, but it was a fine knock given the conditions and the tripe served up by the rest of the line-up. Just hope it stays dry, as that's our best chance of getting a win here.
