Auction draft

Fighting declaration by the team but on that pitch, it was probably a tad risky. Will take the draw though. Wonder what the tactics were while they were chasing the total.

It's hard to judge things like declarations, but I do tend to err on the side of caution.

In that game, there was rain as well in it IIRC - set about 100 overs or so to get 360 which at those run rates from the match was never on.

When the rain came in then it was a dead cert draw hence a few overs of part timers (partly to get Punter's bowling average up so he doesn't feature near the top of it, stupid chimp then gets a wicket!)

Any rain in the match between my team and the Messerschmits Mark? That declaration looks a bit cautious to me - setting 339 to win on what looked a perfectly average pitch?

Think there was yes, but can't remember when exactly it came to be honest, think it was towards the end of the 4th innings though.

A combination of being away with work and wanting to get the next draft going as soon as possible means there's another round already and some interesting games...

Ah, the first loss for my team. Bound to happen sooner or later, so its acceptable. By just 38 runs though. That looks like it might have been a nightmare of a pitch. Was it my home turf?

Yes, you were at home. It's definitely been a case that the pitches have been somewhat tricky at times that's for sure.

honestbharani

Whatever it takes!!!
AAAAH.. first innings collapse did us in.. But having THE bowling line up almost made up for it.. Sachin just HAD to show up when they were 50/5 though, didn't he? Been a quite series for my two heroes, tbh. Sachin and Lara. :(

Expected Murali to do better on that pitch but they have a good batting lineup and considering his other performances in the tournament I think he's allowed an off day.

Amazing century from Sehwag though. Needed some support from the likes of Hammond, G.Pollock, Chappell and Paynter and we could have got the extra 38 runs.

Somerset

Cricketer Of The Year
Just shows how close the table is that I dropped about 4 spots due to my bye! Besides the Bradman bunnies it really is a closely contested competition.

Blakus

State Vice-Captain
Grimmett WAG. Really do love my team. Bowling just as good as Honestbharani's but a much better batting line-up.

Looking at some of the other games, there's been some awesome allround performances this round. Hadlee and Swann in particular

What contributes to the bonus points? I have a 4-3 w/l record in 8 games, and I'm placed below a team with a 3-4 w/l record in 9 games

6 for a win, 2 for a draw, 2 point bonus for a 1st innings lead in a game you don't win.
Not fair! No way should a team with a 4-3 record in 8 games be ranked lower than a team with 3-4 in 9 games! Winning more games >> first innings lead in drawn games.

In all honesty there's a lot of very closely matched sides so any points system will penalise some and benefit others. Either way, it's set up now so tough :p

Round 10 complete so 3 to go then we can commence a new draft which will be based on ODI players.
