vaas apparently has the best economy among pace bowlers.

It's econ rate that matters most in T20s and not averages or whole number of wickets taken.
You're having a laugh imo.

Can you also mention their economy rates as that matters most in t20?Out of those 5 wickets he took 3 in the last match.Point is Vaas did not deserve to be dropped,he was consistent right through.
Vaas defs has the better economy rate, but as I've just mentioned, you're kididng yourself if you think wickets aren't important in 20/20s. And I agree, Vaas did not deserve to be dropped (I would have played both), but you said "not sure what Harris did to keep his place in the side", to which the answer, I feel, is very obvious.

The third place playoff seems utterly pointless. Did they have it in previous seasons? The third Champions League place should be given to who finished higher in the table out of the two losing semifinalists.

Why waste an opportunity to get money?

I agree on the pointlessness of the same. Last year, DD got in on the basis of points.

Economy rate matters most in t20.You would rather have the other team score 140/2 after 20 overs than 165/8.....wickets taken can be very misleading in such a fickle format..Yuvraj Singh got a couple of hat tricks FFS

Even if you've got an awesomely restrictive bowling attack like Mumbai you'll still have to do well with the bat to chase down totals if you've not taken many wickets.

I suppose they're using the same pitch today as tomorrow? If the pitch suffers a bit as it seemed to earlier in the semis that'd be a pity.

Hope that's not the case but if it is, the team batting first will have a massive advantage if the rest of the tourney is anything to go by

I think the point is that, generally, if a team has only lost 2 wickets, they won't end up with only 140 runs on the board after 20 overs.

Yes teams will hit out, even if you bowl really well you'll still see good balls that would have otherwise gone for 0-1 the batsman has a swish at and gets a daft edge for 4.

Mumbai are one of the few teams who've the bowling to pull off a very defensive approach, because they've awesome death bowling. If you don't have that death bowling or someone as good as the turdinator then you'll cough up some big overs with all those wickets in hand. This is where not taking wickets will hurt you badly. Against someone like Malinga you could be down to the dregs or you could have quality with wickets in hand the differential will not be that big.

Hmm Doshi playing, guess he counts as an Indian player. That guy has a peculiar career. Where's he been for the past 20 months?

Hahahaha still no Vaas. Dwayne Smith randomly picked this time. Gibbs dropped.
Deccan and Punjab really are clueless when it comes to team selection. Some players are treated awfully while others are inexplicably given preferential treatment.
