The best possible final I could have hoped for. Win - Win for me but really hope CSK do it. Their 3 spinner attack is pretty good and is being under estimated.

not sure what Harris did to keep his place in the side.
Are you serious?! He took 14 wickets in 7 matches @ 15.64, which is the best average for bowlers with 10 wickets or more in this IPL. He played one more game than Vaas, and took five more wickets. Get out of it.

tbh, I would play both of them and drop Gibbs for a local.. Maybe even Laxman.

Gibbs was a fine player but his time was up a couple of years ago

Gilly is a great and although he retired years ago, Deccan still won last year and reached the semis this year

As for Chennai's attack, Bollinger is probably one of the world's best bowlers atm
Did I say Gilly had a disgraceful career? Did I say the same about Gibbs? No.

I said they were disgraceful in that match. The way they started that chase was absolutely shocking.

Don't bring up their awesome careers, I know they were guns, and I know Gilly is an all-time great. But this is the IPL, and its a' "what are you doing for me now" business.

Hyderabad don't give a **** how many ODI World Cups Gilly won.

Gilly, Gibbs and Rohit were a disgrace yesterday in a must-win match. End point.

The dire batting in the first two overs by Deccan lifted Chennai's confidence and set a low tempo for DC IMO.

Yeah.

It was tricky because Gilly had recently been going out in stupid ways early, so I can sort of see what he was trying to do.

But Gibbs, wow.

Main issue is if Deccan or Chennai wanted to go on an oldies dropping spree, they really need to be big players during the off season as neither have amazing batting reserves. Plus if they get internationals they might not be there half the time either, so replacing guys that can play a full season with uncertain is a bit risky in itself. I'd keep guys like Hayden for sure, just a) make sure they train for ages in advance and encourage them to play other forms of cricket to keep fresh, and have them in a reduced role with ie not certain starters.

Yes totally no brainer. Or get in form Suman to open and get someone like Rao who can strengthen the middle order.

vaas apparently has the best economy among pace bowlers.

It's econ rate that matters most in T20s and not averages or whole number of wickets taken.
Rear Pain has the most wickets in IPL btw.

Can you also mention their economy rates as that matters most in t20?Out of those 5 wickets he took 3 in the last match.Point is Vaas did not deserve to be dropped,he was consistent right through.
