 at Mitchell Marsh playing ahead of Gibbs and Smith. Nepotism at it's most ugly IMHO.

Anyway at least Vaas is finally back, rightfully taking the place of Ryan Harris.

Is Geoff is involved at Deccan? Thought it was Gilchrist and Lehmann. Or are you just meaning "nepotism" as in the Australians looking after their own?

"Clever bowling by Ashish Nehra" - Sunil Gavaskar. Um, he's bowled a short wide one outside off stump to Adam Gilchrist...

Anyways, 140 will set it up for a good game here.

Well, that may be the last time we see Gilchrist get out in the first 6 overs of a Deccan innings. [/pessimism]

Smith went home, didnt he? Also have the feeling Gibbs is injured? Just a feeling, not 100% sure.

Yeah perhaps nepotism is the wrong word but Gilly and Lehmann very clearly have looked after their own this season. I like Deccan as a team but that sort of behaviour makes me almost hope they get knocked out.

Not sure about Gibbs but Smith is not involved in the West Indies set up so there is no reason for him to go home.

I think he has just been left out for Marsh tbh, which is awful.

Haha, what? Marsh has every right to be picked, and Harris has 11 wickets in 6 games at an average of 17.

Yeah, understand. Thought that maybe Marsh Snr. had gotten involved with Deccan, and that I'd missed that bit of info, that's all. :)

Gibbs is awful. See his T20 record. Rubbish.

Dwayne Smith I don't think will be anywhere near as effective at this level as opposed to slogging and bowling medium tripe for the anti-cricketers at Sussex.

In terms of balance I think it's fair enough to pick Marsh for that bit of extra pace and some batting depth.

Nepotism is not when Australians play, but when a they continue to play ahead of much deserving others.

Glad they've righted that wrong. Don't see much issue with Marsh playing as his competition is basically Smith who is basically too much of a hit and miss for me.

Go Daredevils go!

Why shouldn't I be in the team? Normally people have to have achieved something to deserve a spot on merit.

What is marsh's claim to fame?
Captained Australia in the U19's world cup, which we won? I know that 4 out of 5 people have done this, so its not that good.

Seriously though, dont the teams have to buy the players? Surely a team wouldnt buy a player that they're only going to play because of his name.

End of a totally unimpressive innings from Marsh.
To be honest, thought he played his role really well when Symonds was in. On a slow pitch, he just got the guy who was smoking them on strike.

It was a reasonable innings from a young player, but probably not what you'd be hoping for from one of your four internationals. Mind you, it's not appearing that easy to score at the death on this pitch, which isn't surprising in Delhi.
