So who will be the top 4?

Mumbai need to beat one of Kings XI, Rajsthan, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata. So they're pretty much a lock on to be in there only the greatest misfortune could see them out of the finals now.

Delhi need to beat two out of Kings XI, Mumbai, Chennai, Deccan. They should pretty confident of taking out Deccan and Kings XI and right up there in the other two. Can see them getting through easily along with Mumbai.

So Mumbai and Delhi should get in but Rajasthan, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata are all competing for those remaining two spots. (Deccan if they win their rest could as well but I don't see that happening)
Rajsthan only need 1 big win or 2 wins to qualify but have a moderately difficult path to get there with only 3 hard matches to go against Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata.
Bangalore need 2 to 3 wins against Deccan, Kolkata, Deccan, Rajasthan and Mumbai. Can see them getting on top of Deccan both times tbh, even if they don't they should still take out those 2 to 3 matches IMO.
Chennai face off with Deccan, Kolkata, Delhi and Kings XI. Should back themselves to beat both Kings XI and Deccan at this stage of the tournament.
Kolkata face Bangalore, Chennai, Rajasthan and Mumbai. Definitely the hardest march to the top 4 for any of the teams but they do benefit from having a final match against a basically already through Mumbai, meaning that Kolkata should likely know what they have to get unlike the other teams.

I'd personally round up my top four as being:

Mumbai
Delhi
Bangalore
aaaaaaaaand
Kolkata edging out Chennai

Chennai seems to be peaking at the right time. I like the look of their bowling attack. Thushara looks good and with Bollinger, Jakati bowling well they appear to be well balanced. If Hussey can get into the swing of things they should be going to the semis.

24 hours ago I would have said no way. But seeing most of the KKR clicking at once and the results it can bring is making me think otherwise. And we all know what they're like when McCullum comes to play.

That being said, KKR in the semis would be after someone does something particularly special against teams clamouring for that final semis berth.

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned but how ****ing good was Vettori vs. Ganguly. What a contest!
Code:
1.1

Vettori to Ganguly, 1 run, on the middle and leg line, eased to deep midwicket

1.2

Vettori to Gayle, 1 run, on the off stump line, pushed out to cover point

1.3

Vettori to Ganguly, FOUR, goes on with the arm .. slides away from Ganguly -
a good ball actually but Ganguly shows his class.
He was pressing forward, picked the floater, held his balance, waited,
opened the bat-face and unfurled a lovely late cut. Yummy!

1.4

Vettori to Ganguly, no run, goes for the sweep but deosn't connect

1.5

Vettori to Ganguly, FOUR, skips down the track and drives through covers.
He timed his jump down the track to perfection

1.6

Vettori to Ganguly, 1 wide, slows up the pace, loops it across but
pushes it down the leg side

1.6

Vettori to Ganguly, FOUR, on the leg stump again and Ganguly
plays a sweep shot. Meaty!

11.1

Vettori to Ganguly, 1 run, stays back to punch it to long-off

11.3

Vettori to Ganguly, 1 run, quicker one, Ganguly punches it down to long-on.
Not quite well timed and he has a close look at his bat

11.5

Vettori to Ganguly, OUT, What a loverly delivery!
Slow. Really slow. It was looped across.
Ganguly had to wait and wait on the front foot and tried to adjust
by attempting a slog sweep ..
but he had completed the shot far too early.
The ball gently eased towards the middle stump.

SC Ganguly b Vettori 56 (46b 8x4 1x6) SR: 121.73

Ganguly is done now. Instead I would like to see how Vettori will do against a set Gambhir or either of Pathans.

Pandey made to look very ordinary by Harris. Feet nowhere every ball he faced. Saw him make a ton last year, but I'm still not sure that he should be anywhere near the Twenty20 Indian team. I know he wasn't picked, but I saw his name thrown up by some.

Mitch Marsh getting the ball thrown to him in the powerplay is a big call. Looks like a nice simple action though.

Pity about spraying 'em everywhere.

Gilly has something against him IMO. Better than some crap that has been playing as overseas fast bowlers.
Would select Harris ahead of him quite easily. Was a star in the finals last year and has been gunning it internationally for a year now.
