Awesome spell from Warne.

I thought my boy Rohit was going to take Deccan home.

Both teams are pretty **** though, you can just see they'd need to have a really good day to beat Mumbai or Delhi.

Btw, how crazy is Rajasthan's record of always defending a score of 150 or more.

Yeah warne benefited from some rank poo shots by the chokers lower order batsmen.

G.I.Joe

International Coach
I think it had to do with him not being able to leave his kids at home for two months a year, especially considering that Delhi were consistently playing Nannes ahead of him anyway in the last IPL.

Glad to see the real warne turning up been a while. But what a game!

So end of Tait in IPL 3?
Yep, team's highest wicket taker and one of the comp's lowest strike rates - ship him out 8-)

Likewise with Voges - done nothing but perform and yet cant get a game anymore

Some of the selections in this IPL have been truly bizarre

International Regular
Harris' catch off Lumb was amusing.
It makes me wonder.....

When is a catch a catch? If a fielder takes the ball head high, holds on firmly and than falls down, still holding the ball firmly, and when his hands touch the ground, and if it appears the leather of the ball touches the ground before the skin of the hands does, but the grip on the ball stays firm....., it is not a catch?
That's the idea I got form the commentary and the 3rd umpire.
I'm not sure what the laws say, but to me that is a proper catch.....

yeah.. tend to agree with that. I think the leter of the law states something about the fielder being in full control of the ball.. that is pretty vague, right?

Tait averages 26 at 8.6 for his 10 wickets from 8 matches and rightly binned. However Voges' non selection is truly surprising. He strikes at over 140 and has an eco rate of 6 and is electric on field. Warne's selections have generally been off mark this season with martyn taking the gold cup.

Abu Nechim Ahmed looks quite a talent. I bet most of the other teams (Rajasthan Royals in particular) would love to have someone like that. Bit different to the usual mid 120 bowlers.

Oh and baffled why Tare doesn't play, seemed a decent enough bat and keeps wicket. Is he injured?

Part-time keepers, particularly with guys like Malinga bowling, cost you 5-10 runs a game. It is far harder to make those runs up in T20 than in a 50 over game.

Truly dire commentary. Stating the bloody obvious and little else. There Is this guy making his debut, abu, and managed to beat hayden and raina in his first over. Bowled at 145 plus and the only 'insight' the commentators have is 'hayden will be intimidating'.

Yeah ****s.

Surprised Nechim is only making his debut now, was the most impressive paceman from the Indian 2006 WC side.
