How do the players contracts work. Are they signed up for a fixed period of time? you don't hear a lot of talk about transfers

Yeah this.

When you've attacking players till no.8 there is no justification in using up half of the innings at a sub par strike rate. It actually pushes the required strike beyond the grasp of remaining batsmen.

Uppercut, did you watch the last match? By about the 9th over of the second innings the fate of the match was sealed. Actually kallis would have got out at a much lower strike rate had it not been for 3 dropped catches one of which fetched him a six.

Perceptions play a role here too. Had it been say Yusuf pathan or gilly who'd been batting at 125 sr, i'd still back them because they have the game to change it all in a matter of few overs. They've demonstrated that in the past a few times as well. But with kallis it's been predictable, as long as he's around opposition fans including me are actually relieved to some extent.

Further, raising strike rate from 125 to 140 is difficul than 100 to 125.
I did watch the game.

I just think it's bizarre to blame Kallis for his perfectly-reasonable 54 off 42 when Cameron White hit 4 off 11 and KP 16 off 19. 54 off 42 leaves the rest of the side 128 off 78 to win, so it's certainly not "costing his side the game". It was a patchy innings for sure but I don't think it was half as detrimental to Bangalore's chances as you make out. I don't really agree with using an anchor as such in T20 but having been given that job, he did it as well as you could reasonably expect and I think the blame lies with the rest of the side who failed in their roles altogether.

Uppercut, I don't think i've ever mentioned that kallis was the only one responsible for yesterday's defeat. But his role in increasing the pressure on other batsmen due to his slow scoring is undeniable. When Brc started the required rate was a little above 9. Kallis despite the extra runs gifted to him by way of dropped chances still could muster only a personal run rate of about 7.7. Worse, he occupied significant time in the crease that this meant the others had to score at above 10 per over. This is despite having the best chance to score by getting to bat the entire powerplay. Yes kp played a terrible innings as well. White didn't last long to dent or help Brc's chances anyway. It was a shame seeing Dravid having to trot onto the ground in the 17th over with little to bat for. Waste of resources.

Could somebody please, PLEASE explain to me the premise of the 'Karbonn Mobile' ad that shows Sehwag and Gambhir fighting over a phone, then nudging each other and giggling?

I cannot make any sense of it at all.

One sim card shows someone calling - I guess a girl or friend or something and both want to talk.
Another sim shows the coach calling and they don't want to talk to them so nudge each other to pick up.

Basically they say 'mine' at first to attend a call from a girl and the say 'yours' when the coach calls. Followed by a wtf expression from everyone sitting n front of the tv at my place.

What athlai said.

That makes sense, I will have to pay more attention next time it is on.

Thanks.

When one has to admit it's been one of the better ads, shows how dire they generally have been.
