*Official* Indian Premier League 2010

KP looks a lot better against SLA now (kiss of death). He's not constantly trying to sweep them for 6, or walking across his stumps anywhere near as much. Generally playing the ball a lot straighter, unless it's a genuine leg-side delivery. Good signs.

Vettori and Mishra still have 5 overs between them and Bangalore need 134 runs from 11. This approach is ITSTL

It has to be said. Pietersen will probably go down as the most overpaid player in IPL history. Someone forgot to look at his actual performance before selecting him.

Kallis needs to get out; KP needs to get going.

Yeah, tooextracool, they should have definitely dropped him after his innings in the last game.

Kallis honestly is a waste of space anytime his side needs more than 8 an over. His only real scoring shot is the cover drive.

Kallis' innings is worse here because there's no way he's ever going to catch up with this run-rate.
Agreed. At least you get the feeling with KP that he can suddenly find some timing and start smashing it. Kallis just plods along at the same pace for the entire innings. Gives the impression he's playing for his average this year. Needs to get out so RCB can get Taylor in.

Not even close.

1. Fred
2. Motzarta

As we've seen countless times it's takes some players longer to adapt then others. And let's not forget his awesome last innings..

Did you watch his last innings? He was dropped 3 times, and if it wasnt for Utthappa and Lee that game was as good as lost.

Call me stupid, but I'd much rather have someone whos on the bench than someone whos costing his team games by actually playing. Pietersen was desperately poor last season and hes continuing that trend. His peformance in international t20s has been just as desperate so him being paid this much just belies belief.

RCB's batting depth is out of this world, but the likes of Kallis and Pietersen continually mess that up by not allowing most of them to get time in.

IMO, you're thinking too short term. Twenty20 and the IPL isn't something you can necessarily adapt to overnight. Even class players like KP take some time and eventually they'll get there and when they do, teams like Bangalore who didn't suffer from kneejerk reactions dropping any player who couldn't score at 200 right away will be have the opportunity to dominate the game for many years to come.

Huh =/ 2nd leading run-scorer in the world in T20i's, with a strike rate of 143. Not sure how that's a desperately poor performance personally.

Well I think that IPL is a short minded game. Why do you think Dilshan was dropped? The man was the hottest item over the last year in T20 cricket, but he was dropped on the basis of form. Thats how the game works, you dont let a guy just crap around for 5 games until he eventually delivers, not while you have the likes of Eoin Morgan and Pandey warming the bench.

The whole form is temporary but class is permanent idea may be romantic, but the bottom line is that in t20 cricket form is the only thing that matters.

Dunno what doubt there was in that, was plum. Pietersen and White and to a lesser extent Kallis just left too much to do in this match. Kallis has anchored the innings quite well and has a healthy strike rate. Must be one of the top 6 scorers in the IPL don't know why he cops so much flak on here.
