Battle of Cricketers - CW's Favorite Cricketer

Because if it counts as one minus vote in a battle of four, it means in effect that you have three plus votes.
This is what happens when you throw mathematicians into real-life situations, have to apply their bloody number logic

Don't care anyway, wanna take my stand -1 Johnson

Great pic of Barry Richards, mind you. And I'm sure if I'd seen him play he might have counted as one of my favourites.

I understand that, but there's a difference between disliking him as a cricketer on the field (ruthlessness, sleding etc whatever) and hating him as a person, especially considering all the charity work he has done/does(?)
Sure. But his off-field deeds haven't really entered my consciousness - I suppose they're naturally publicised vastly more in Oz than up here.

Strange, since most of his off-field deeds weren't in Australia!

Nah, whatever pratters feels is fair enough. Waugh was probably mean to one of his favourite movies or something

Like Hadlee but vote for Richards.

For good or bad, legends need to be surrounded by mystery and Richards certainly has that.

Cricket, Lovely Cricket
I wrote a long paragraph of why I hated Waugh but it got deleted. I will try and re-write -

It was difficult for me to spell out the exact reasons why I hate Waugh but when I thought about it today, it came easy to me.

I believe in sportsmanship and Monica Seles is my favorite sportsperson. Monica Seles was very gracious in defeat and used to carry herself very well. Waugh would do almost any thing to win which irked me a lot. The worst was dismissing a RSA batsman who was out of the crease after the ball was bowled by Australia which lead to Cronje smashing the glass of the dressing room in a stadium in Australia. Waugh played it ugly and it was horribly poor to watch. I used to love Australia under Taylor but with Waugh I found myself despising the team. I tried to play the Waugh way once in back yard cricket sledging my friends. I was frankly embarassed by it. I find myself the polar opposite of Waugh in so many different ways. I despise him to the core.

Paddles, although Richards seems genuine gentleman in the comm box. Thorughly good egg without being bland with it.
