Waugh, childhood hero. Has kind of diminished with his media reclusiveness though.
Oh? Would prefer that to appearing on (and winning, tbf) Strictly Come Effing Dancing like two of his oppo have.

Could never have imagined SRW being a media whore; too much his own man which is part of his appeal for me.

Yeah, I guess it's more a case of out of sight, out of mind.

One of the very few cricketers I really hated was Steve Waugh. I don't wish to elaborate on this.

Goughy is some one I like and Ramprakash is ok.

Have to go with Anderson though. Awesome to watch.

He always brings it up. Not sure he's explained why yet. Would think it would be the opposite with all the great work he's done in India, but meh each to his own.

Quite a few of us here in NZ disliked Waugh for some slow batting tactics he adopted in the '99 WC to try to push NZ out of the tournament on net run-rate.

But then we did the same to them in the triangular series in 2002, so...

Saw Ramps and thought it was going to be an easy decision. Can't really go past Jimmeh though.

Re Steve Waugh, I have to say his whole "mental disintegration" thing and everything that went with it was pretty ugly. Effective but ugly. And one of its effects is that the fans of the teams that you mentally disintegrated won't necessarily like you very much. But of course one thing's for damn sure and that's that Steve Waugh wasn't bothered about winning popularity contests.
