*Official* England in Bangladesh

My gut instinct to root for the underdog over-rules customary patriotic support for England I think. It's not that I don't want us to win, but I wouldn't be completely devastated if we didn't. It would be embarrassing for sure, and there'd be a few cries of "why wasn't Strauss there" but the win would mean so much more to them.
TBH, I think the shocking selection for this squad, and Strauss not bothering to turn up would make me fairly meh about a loss too.

Bangas have got some young good-looking batsmen too. Shame about the bowling:unsure:

Think England should be fairly pleased with their days work. Wicket is flat, attack is poor but they still got 8 wickets. Bangladesh blew it.

Probably with no real cause for concern but my natural distrust of playing 5 specialist bats has me worried in a situation like this.

Easiest way to lose on a flat track is if you cant regroup after a couple of early wickets lost.

As I said, probably will not happen but I dont understand why the selectors would open up a potential problem area.

The logic is easy to understand, they want two spinners but would never risk just playing two quick’s therefore this was the only option but like you I have real problems with it. Must say though that it would be far less of an issue for me if Strauss was touring, I know that debate has been had and we should move on but it seems ridiculous that England should be going into a match with a makeshift opener when we have a quality one who also happens to be captain sitting at home.

Shafiul Islam
I rate him higher than Rubel, so it's a nice surprise to see that he's made some runs today.

Just looking at Bangladesh's highest team totals and the highest 8 scores are against different countries. Only downfall is against South Africa. 8/354 is in 8th spot.

Looked quick and dangerous when he was here.

Yeah same here, have half been supporting Bangladesh the whole series, really want them to do well. Not sure who I would want to win if it got really close though.
tbh, if the stars aligned and Bangladesh stomped Australia in one of those 2-match top end series they have, I would enjoy every minute of it.

Thats the problem with 5 bowlers. There isnt enough proper work to go around.
I think it's more poor captaincy. I'm aware that one bowler usually will do less in 5 man attacks, but only 7 overs is just not enough especially when you think that he actually has taken a wicket.

Shafiul > Kayes btw.

Sure but it isnt isnt as if Broad and Bresnan have bowled 30 overs each. There has not been the workload for 3 seamers if 2 spinners are bowling over 60% of the overs.
