I can't say that I'm totally shocked, we've been far too reliant on our tail enders to make us the runs this season. We really need some reliable batsmen next season and Simpson needs to earn his place in the side.

Incredible that David Hussey will finish his career averaging 55+ and never play a Test match for Australia.

Victoria could bat all day if Queensland don't start to pick up more wickets (just as Finch is run-out). With Wright unlikely to bowl, I'm sure Victoria will be more than happy to stay at the crease.

Simpson needs to be dropped for the next season. I'm over his batting average of 20 and bowling average of 60. Especially now that we have found Boyce.

Maybe it is just me, but IMO I think that Queensland have over achieved in just making the final. When you look at their list compared to the other states (and NSW in particular), they have done quite well. I don't think losing Watson to NSW or Johnson to WA have really made an impact since they barely would of played a game anyway (and Johnson has never played for WA yet).

So, as I've been saying all along, Shield finals are alive and well and I can't believe there were people in this thread saying they should be scrapped.

Broadcaster on SEN called for it to be scrapped this morning, based on the match as well.

Administrator of Cricket Victoria rang up and slammed him.

Public opinion was polarised.
