*Official* England in Bangladesh

Xuhaib

International Coach
Grats England and good fight from BD.

Expect them to win a test match (series?) against Pak next year.

Swann!

Credit to Bagladesh batting, good effort.
Bangladesh batting starting to look better in recent times.
I can see the good thing in that great 6th wicket stand. However, in the end Bangladesh managed to take only 13 wickets (note that Collingwood's and Bell's first innings wicket were slog-balls, so only 11 proper wickets) and still lost by 181 runs. A long way to go!

Not Terrible
Would have easily taken 10 in the 2nd if England hadn't declared. Hoping for a real turner in the next match.

KP and Colly were hitting out in the 2nd dig anyway. And if we get a real turner, we'll still win, because Swanneh is AWESOME. Wouldn't swap him for any other cricketer full-stop tbh, WAG

Man Tamim is such a gun. Only 170 Cricketers all-time have made 1000 runs in less innings.

Tamim is up there with WG Grace, Walcott, Kirsten, Fleming, Trescothick and Ross Taylor in number of innings and is ahead of very good players in Boon, M. Waugh, Hussain and Vaughan.

Rahim is awesome too, well played by the Bangladesh 'stars'.

Tamim is also only 20. Could very well rack up a very respectable amount of Test runs in his career.
He sure could, so could Rahim, especially in terms of wicket keepers.

I was just looking at Siddique's career, he really needs to start performing in the first innings of the match like he does in the second innings

Code:
1st team innings	2008-2010	15	15	0	238	67	15.86	623	38.20	0	1	1	36	0
2nd team innings	2008-2010	14	14	0	492	106	35.14	1163	42.30	1	4	1	56	1

Think their batting is getting there (notwithstanding the road-like qualities of the Chittagong strip) but they won't win tests regularly until they find some bowlers from somewhere.

Swann = best English spinner since Laker?
Underwood in all probability
Couldn't argue with that. Might have a case as the best offie since Laker tho. Titmus, Illy, Embers...? Early days but he's probably up there as of now.

Very hard to equate with spinners from the past, IMHO, even 10 years ago. The fact is that the way the umpiring has changed so that spinners get more LBW's when previously batsmen just pretending to play behind their pads and were never out, gives twirlers a big advantage nowadays. Brings bat-and-pad into play, now people actually have to play properly at the ball, so it's just not the increased chance of LBW's. Harris, Hauritz and Swanneh are all benefiting.

It's about time too, the way the rule was being policed was a joke. Makes me feel sorry for the likes of Embers, Edmonds and Croft, but it's a good thing IMHO. Means that finger-spinners can become a real part of an attack on any type of pitches.

OH btw, it's Underwood by miles.

Forgot about Underwood, I think Swann has a shout at being the best English offspinner since Laker though. He just has an excellent feel for the game.

International 12th Man
Shahadat Hossian Used to bowl in the low 140's now he grunts for balls that Read 117kph.

I know something is wrong with his arm 2 months ago he was bowling low 130's and got the ball to reverse a little vs India took a 5fer

2 years ago he looked like a star in making the ball reverse a mile vs SA.

Mushy, Tamim and Mahmudullah are have a very strong 2010 thus far

I think I saw that Bangers have to play Ireland in some ODIs this year. Will probably be a close affair but I will root for Bangers as they have much to lose and little to gain in the affair.

Also I think Tamim could make a case for making the test teams for a couple of the other sides in world cricket. Including pakistan, nz and the west indies.

I think the top 5 teams would probably keep their current openers.

I am following Tamim's progress in each series he plays.
