We need to report the Havell's CFL advertisement to the ASCI. Terribly disgusting. Download and print the form, fill it, mail it, or just send a million emails asking people in India to do the same, but it's gone on too long. Families watch the IPL, and it's unfortunate that it comes up at the time.

Yep, tell everyone you know about the ad that's exactly what the company don't want you to do.

The company should have kept public interest in mind when approving these ads. This one is unbearable, and given its presence in IPL breaks, it's hard to miss. It may just result in loss of brand value and sales for the company.

A hangman finds solace in the fact that he is "doing something good" by saving electricity because he's isntalled those bulbs.

Personally don't find anything wrong with that ad just that iti is humourous. I would liek to see a couple of ads, like the "goofy Akshay laugh" and the 'Katrina Kaif Mango slice (is it?)" one for their direness.

The theme reminds of these fake Prius ads which I love:
Or the infamous "You may not withstand the blast, but your shoes will" fake ad for Nike. Maybe those ads are done purely to harm the brands, but this was real, and endorsed by the company itself. And it was very blatant, a sucker-punch in your face. Maybe some folks have a slightly extended sense of humour in case of those fake ads, but what Havell's and Lowe did was beyond acceptable limits.

A few rupees saved for something beyond a price? Honestly, nobody in that capacity feels good about what happens there, irrespective of the crimes committed by the 'victims'. It's as bad as the excessive coverage given to an instance of capital punishment in Kolkata, but this was in full graphic detail, as against mere text and spoken word. It's fine if you're watching a more adult-oriented movie or TV show, but this is the IPL, entire families watch the game, so is this what they are forced to endure?

The Akshay and Katrina ads are purely annoying or hilarious because of their annoyance or direness, but this ad, if you'll pardon the expression, kills all the fun of watching the game. It may not only damage brand value of Havell's and CFLs, but also erode viewership of the IPL matches. Questionable ads have been done in the past, and most of them, you can bear with, but this is beyond questionable- and deserves to be taken down. It's worse than Bisleri's initial "Play safe" campaign.

It's not for me to say what is and isn't acceptable in your country. But from my point of view on the other side of the world, Indian ads (ive seen) are so dire - flashing lights, people screaming, tacky jingles (not that we dont have that crap here either) that it's great to see an intelligent, humourous and well done ad that gets the point across pretty well.

And whilst there are exceptions everytime you discuss it you give their brand more publicity which could be working against what you're trying to achieve, as I mentioned before.

Indian ads look to gain attention by being loud because they want to appeal to the masses. They look at crass humour and are usually dire. Most Indian ads that is. There have been some gems over the years but that would be true for ads from most countries.

Akshay's goofy laugh really scares me all of a sudden... its really annoying than the Havel's one.

Ahead of Maharoof surely? Warner and Sehwag would be one heck of an opening partnership, then with Gambhir, Dilshan and De Villiers they'd have one of the better batting line-ups in the tournament.
