Stormers to beat the Hurricanes.
Watched the Lions today, what an embarrassment. Dissolve the franchise.

Exploration of initial team rankings1 Hurricanes - Poor start to the season currently at 7th
2 Crusaders - Business as usual for the Crusaders spot on 3rd
3 Stormers - Good start, spot on 2nd
4 Blues - Woeful so far 10th
5 Waratahs - Placing 6th so far not too bad
6 Bulls - Should have backed them a bit more placing 1st
7 Chiefs - Got the start to the season that could see them be one of the teams to beat 4th
8 Brumbies - Strong start 5th
9 Highlanders - Pretty av. 11th
10 Sharks - Poor 12th
11 Force - Doing worse than so far expected 14th
12 Cheetahs - Had a better start than I thought 9th
13 Reds - The biggest surprise 8th
14 Lions - Dire as usual 13th
The current table lies a lot due to schedules though.Exploration of initial team rankings
The current table lies a lot due to schedules though.
I've tried to make one now based on "expected" totals - basically, you got to take
4 points at home match
2 points at away match
1 point at away match in far time-zone (i.e. East Australia, NZ for SA sides, SA for all other sides - except Force, who gets far time-zone for everyone except East Australia)
That'll leave roughly 35 points for most sides, which is about average.
The expected totals for all sides
Brumbies: 7 H, 4 A, 2 FA = 38
Crusaders: 7 H, 4 A, 2 FA = 38
Chiefs: 7 H, 4 A, 2 FA = 38
Reds: 7 H, 3 A, 3 FA = 37
Waratahs: 6 H, 5 A, 2 FA = 36
Bulls: 7 H, 2 A, 4 FA = 36
Cheetahs: 7 H, 2 A, 4 FA = 36
Stormers: 7 H, 2 A, 4 FA = 36
Hurricanes: 6 H, 4 A, 3 FA = 35
Highlanders: 6 H, 4 A, 3 FA = 35
Blues: 6 H, 4 A, 3 FA = 35
Lions: 6 H, 2 A, 5 FA = 33
Sharks: 6 H, 2 A, 5 FA = 33
Force: 6 H, 1 A, 6 FA = 32
Now, I give pluses and minuses depending on where the matches have been played (the Blues winning in Queensland = 4 points - which is 2 more than expected, so +2)
Bulls +6
Brumbies +4
Chiefs +3
Crusaders +2
Hurricanes +2
Stormers +1
Waratahs +1
Blues -2
Highlanders -3
Reds -3
Cheetahs -4
Sharks -7
Force -9
Lions -10
adding up
1st Bulls 42
2nd Brumbies 42
3rd Chiefs 41
4th Crusaders 40
5th Stormers 37
6th Waratahs 37
7th Hurricanes 37
8th Reds 34
9th Blues 33
10th Cheetahs 32
11th Highlanders 32
12th Sharks 26
13th Lions 23
14th Force 23
Yeah, will try to update fairly regularly. Much easier now the work is done.Impressive stuff mate. Can't see Brumbies up there for long though.
Really? I know they havent exactly been playing awesome but I thought they were pretty highly rated this season.Impressive stuff mate. Can't see Brumbies up there for long though.
Highly rated but they aren't really delivering given the names they have across the paddock. No bonus points to speak of yet either, The Reds are only 1 point behind them on the table despite the Brumbies winning one extra game.Really? Yeah, cos taking bonus points when you're playing away to Blue Bulls & Stormers is a piece of cake.Highly rated but they aren't really delivering given the names they have across the paddock. SecondGood week for basically everyone besides Athlai. Three who didn't tip in time received a generous five points with the home teams successful. I suggest implementing a new rule that you can receive two non-tipping weeks throughout the season, i.e. that Heath can't miss another week and get default picks.
