personall attacks on a message board:laugh: now there's something new. what i posted was my opinion, one shared by many across the world, i have thought for a long time the icc are waiting for murali to retire to avoid controversy and i fully expect one day his tally of wickets to be expunged because he is a chucker. remember what happend last time he toured aussie? couldn't fool their umpires.
So, what is superhuman about aussie umpires than the rest? May be they are having super slow-mo like eye connected to an superior occipital lobe that can decipher images at 250 fps. Yeah, sub continental and Windies umpires are inferior beings who have lesser brain capacity who could not pick such an obvious think.

Yeah, move the posts to the "Murali chucker 'debate' thread" which we've so badly needed for so long.

Sir Alex & Migara, regardless of what you think about Streetwise's opinion, it is NOT acceptable to resort to personal insults at any time.
While I don't agree with their remarks, would you consider the stuff being said about murali as an insult to the guy and that his fans might find it insulting and provoking.

The world has moved on the issue, CW hasn't. IMHO, it is about time that CW put the "Murali is a Chucker" debate to rest and encouraged its members to either respect his achievements or at least not denigrate it.

Yeah you're right. We shouldn't allow any sort of discussion that may hurt the feelings of people. Damn any thread that discusses controversial topics!

There is nothing left to discuss.
Some of us want to be genuinely educated in the matter but one can't accept all evidence without at least questioning it. There's no need to get so sensitive because not everyone excepts facts at face value.

Agree, let people discuss it. That is their right.

Just get it the hell out of a Murali retirement thread. Its disrespectful.

Hold on, where have I resorted to personal abuse?

To bring in asinine remarks about a player who have been proven not guilty despite scores of biomechanical tests, video evidence etc etc and with little evidence as to him being over the stipulated limit as of now.
"Streetwise is up to his normal trolling etc. etc. etc. "

Does nothing to maintain the decorum of debate. You went straight for the man and not the posts.

Is that so?

Then what mods have done on this posts? They did absolutely nothing when BB called me a tool or a troll

No; no it wouldn't.

Strongly suspect you're either a tool or a troll or both, so won't waste too much time on a proper argument, but let's look at what you're saying: baseless allegations of racism are ok if any judgement the umpire makes can't be proved beyond reasonable doubt?

Does anyone think that sounds reasonable? No, thought not.

So you are just a troll, then.

Sorry to have watsed everyone's time on the cretin.
How do I describe this?

There is no doubt to anyone that he enjoys every opportunity to have a go at non Australian players.

Also while you are at it, how come the following post does not get called upon? (In addition to what Migara posted above).

I am sorry for the remark but it was due to some constant provocation from this streetwise guy. Otherwise my conduct is there for everyone to evaluate. If I randomly bumped a Shane Warne thread and commented "Shane Warne is such a drug cheat" would it be acceptable as a debate?

My only request is to show some consistency.

Often wondered how the panel could say all bowlers used to chuck under the old law, including the old guys like Lillee, Hadlee, Trueman et al.

Presumably they determined this from looking at old footage. I had thought we were not to do that because two-dimensional images don't tell us what's happening.

Look, I find it very disappointing to hear these things being raised about Murali. The bloke's fine to bowl, and he's a great bowler. That should be the end of it, surely?

Probably a good lesson there for you alex, if you go around provoking people then be prepared to take what comes back.

If you see a problem with a post, report it. The mods usually can't see and respond to every inappropriate post within a decent time frame without help. As it is, that thread was closed very soon after Matt's post anyway.

Absolutely no need for posts like this which are clearly out to get a rise. Leave the moderating to the moderators, Streetwise.

I agree with Sir Alex and Migara. When people just keep repeating stuff to irritate and provoke, what do you expect from fans. The only thing I have seen from others though is to pull Migara down for responding to provocation. So Johnsonesque.

And as you'll also see with Migara's second example, there was a reminder within the thread to cut the insults out.

EDIT: and the first example is not similar. Brumby was wrong in his use of language, however he actually included debate in his post. This is different (note, neither are acceptable) than his second post, and what Sir Alex did by coming in and making a post soley about the poster at hand and not the discussion of the topic.
