8-8 now in Chappell-Hadlee history.

Another awesome finish. Well done Australia.

NZers should be pissed at themselves for losing so many wickets up top. If just partnership of substance came from the top order, we would have cruised this.

260ish is not a problem on Eden Park, as long as you keep wickets in hand, which we were abject at doing.

Would hate the next few posts to be along the lines of "Well done NZ for getting so close", tbh.

Well played Australia, NZ's lack of depth with the bat was massively exposed today in Taylor's absence. I think most of us agree Franklin & Broom at 4 & 5 respectively is a joke. Funnily enough Hopkin's was relatively impressive again.

Well, that was a relief. I thought that Vettori was gonna give his team an improbable victory like Styris did the other night.

Luckily, Ryan Harris bowled superbly when needed.

This looks set to be an interesting series, although NZ are definitely slowing themselves down by playing Franklin (a useful lower-order batsman) as a top-order batsman. Why in the world are they? Is it one of Vettori's attemped Fleming-isms (i.e - trying to use him as a pinch hitter), or are they that short of depth?

Short of depth.

If Franklin is out of the next match, where in hell are we going to find a medium-paced allrounder?

Diamanti, anyone?

Well done NZ for getting so close.

Was at Garden City today and noticed a bunch of people (13-20 odd) crowding around in silence near the Foxtel stand. So I stopped as well to watch Vettori and Southee nearly snag a victory at the death. Audible sigh of relief from everyone when Harris bowled Vettori

:( :(

What a ripsnorter from Haddin.
Epic fail from Broom.
Johnson loses round 2 vs Styris.

Broom and Franklin at 4 and 5. Oh dear.
