Struggled in 2 Tests against Australia, averaging 23, but averaged 45 against England, taking his average to 35 in 5 Tests played over the last 12 months. Then in ODi's he's averaging 57.75 in the last 12 months. Real shocking form right there. Bin him and bring in someone who's played 5 domestic games and not made many runs!
Who said anything about dropping him now? 8-) at the end of the day i'm just stating the facts, until today he'd been garbage for a very long time, anyone actually watching WI recently would agree. btw he also stuggled in the tests in England!!.. but don't let that ruin your point will you!!.

Anyone know where he went to school? He has a very middle class black Zimbabwean accent. Id bet one of the top schools.
He's got a fairly beefy bio on Cricinfo.
It says he went to Churchill High School on scholarship.

Cricinfo said:
Vusi Sibanda is a contemporary of Tatenda Taibu, Hamilton Masakadza and Stuart Matsikenyeri. Like them, he comes from the Harare township of Highfield and earned a ZCU scholarship to Churchill High School.

Went to Churchill but on a scholarship. From Highfields which is a pretty poor township.

"The schools' good standing amongst the list of educational institutions run by the state in Zimbabwe has been largely attributed to its observance of a long history of tradition that emphasis duty, moral character, respect for ones' elders, and a balance between academic and sporting achievements. Consequently, the school has produced a crop of young gentlemen that have had a disproportionate impact on their country and their region over the years."

It certainly comes out in his voice. I must admit (and I dont know why) I like the sound of an (Anglo) educated Black Zimbabwean accent. It is pleasing to my ears. More so than a White Zim accent or an educated Black SA accent.

Isn't putting down others in an effort to make Ramdin look good defending him?
Precisely this:
Haha, no. When I call a turd a turd, it's not always an effort to make the toilet seat look good.
Ramdin is wicketkeeper by default. Doesn't make him a good batsman by any means. Just reflects a shocking lack of depth. Hoping for Dowrich in future.
More like super crap!! , i bigged him up before but lets be honest i was more focused on him being wicketkeeper than anything else.
And would you believe his wicketkeeping is worse than his batting? Truly worrisome.

Quite frankly I am at my wits end. In Australia the top order failed miserably in every match and the lower order combined to bring a semblance of respectability to the batting scorecard. Now the top order all scored runs leaving need for only a lower order cameo to win the match and they provided us with nothing.

I have not seen Gayle get as angry as that after a match before. When Smith got out the camera zoomed in and he clearly said 'what sort of fuggin shot is that man?'. It was quite a picture as Barath, Gayle and Shiv sat next to each other watching the lower order ruin all their hard work.

Change is needed, a message has to be sent, I don't care if they play the Under 15 middle/lower order, this cannot go on.

Chanders played well today but one could argue that he gave his wicket away when we needed him most!! 8-) , one good knock against Zimbabwe and suddenly his form over the past year is erased?!! nah i'm not fickle!!.

As for the game, this defeat burns i must say, to see them celebrating like they've won something sickens me, Fletcher, Miller and Smith should be dropped for Saturday if it's possible, having Sarwan at 3rd would have won us this game today.
What has pollard done ? what has ramdin done ?

and LOL@you calling for chanders to get dropped, pollard avging less than 20 and ramdin avging less than 23. Ramdin is the sole reason WI lost this game.

Anybody who can name a more worthy wicketkeeper in the region deserves an examination. Fletcher? Baugh? Browne? Na.

The presence of Smith is the most disconcerting thing. At least in his last incarnation he could bowl to a decent standard. Now he can't bowl, and is essentially used as a specialist pinch-hitter. The problem being that he has no concept of hitting straight.
I have spent 2 years defending Ramdin on various message boards and have had enough. He scored 8 from 16 balls at the death! Yes, he is a better wicket keeper than all but Chadwick Walton (who can't bat yet), but keeping him in the side after a performance like that sends all the wrong signals to him. As does making him Vice Captain. That position should be given to Bravo as soon as he comes back. Sarwan needs to be picked for the 3rd ODI as well.

As for Smith well he actually did well in Australia. But I agree with you, this performance was back to the bad old days where Smith didn't score a run straight down the ground.

Can someone wake me up from this nightmare? Slow/low turning pitches that play into the hands of the opposition who have nobody who can bowl above 80mph. Awful shots from some very talented batsmen. Will this run of form ever end?

There is literally no better wicketkeeper-batsman than Ramdin in the region right now. And as bad as he may be (with the bat) there's absolutely nothing to justify downgrading. For what? To make a point to Ramdin? If he's not good enough, it's not going to be much of a point.

And Ramdin knows that and makes no effort at all to improve his game. What have we got to lose by dropping him for a short period of time in ODI cricket? The replacement can't play worse than Ramdin did today and it will let Ramdin know his performances have been unacceptable.

I had a go at Chanders for his performances over the past year, quit jumping to conclusions, i'm not asking him to be dropped i merely wanted some youngsters to get a chance in this series.

As for Pollard, he stood up against Australia so i give him a pass, he also contributed to three of the wickets we got today.

Fletcher would do a better job than ramdin, he doesn't act like he is above anyone. Ramdin is totally taking advantage of the situation, all he does is play the cut shot even if the the ball is on the leg stump. He is not trying to do better, doing the same thing over and over again to no success. WI need players who are willing to improve their game.

Ramdin is an awful cricketer.

Chanderpaul didn't play any games last year, his record is pointless because the scabs played all the games. You forgot smith stood up in AUS too ? why aren't you willing to give him a chance ?

Smith failure today isn't his fault, he came in too late to bat and he is simply not good enough to come out swinging. The best ive seen him and pollard play was when they batted higher in the innings, maybe thats the best spot for them.

Why not give Jahmar Hamilton a chance? he got 182 runs in five innings this year and took more catches behind the stump than Ramdin did in the same amount of games, i have to say i agree with Beamer, we have to start sending a message to some of these "senior players" that bad form will NOT be tolerated, too many of them are taking the pi$$ now, i mean even after we bowled so badly we managed to get ourselves within a few runs of winning and still we messed it up as usual :wallbash: , i'm just sick of it now.

So you didn't see Chanders play in England at the begining of 09 then? 8-) and yes Smith stood up in a few games while Pollard was consistently taking wickets and getting 30 or more runs, Smith is average and didn't have the guts for the situation he found himself in today.
