*Official* England in Bangladesh

Well would be happy to see Finn getting a game. Really does look like our seamers are going to be decimated. Big chances for Plunkers and Shahzad. Wish we had another spinner that turned it the other way, so playing two tweakers would be more inviting.

Kieswetter's been very good in Limited Overs cricket domestically. Sure he's not done much for England in ODi's yet, but he averages 40.63 in List A cricket, that's a heck of alot better than "****ing horrible". Slagging off Prior is fair enough, has a mediocre domestic record and a terrible ODi record, but give Kieswetter a chance. He's performed well for Somerset, scored consistently for the Lions (outscoring Davies in every match they played together), made 140 on England debut and labelling him "****ing horrible" after just 2 ODi's is very harsh.

Glad we won't have to put up with watching Sidebottom looking down on pace and unthreatening for the rest of the tour. What's frustrating is that we could lose our 2 best bowlers in the squad too. Losing Onions and Broad would be pretty disastrous given we're already without Anderson. I don't have much confidence in Plunkett/Shahzad and Bresnan opening the bowling in Test cricket, even against Bangladesh.

You need to bear in mind that in the "parallel world" inhabited by Scaly, Phil Mustard is the greatest keeper batsman that ever drew breath

To be fair to Scaly I think he does actually think Davies is more deserving than Kieswetter for the role.

Yes Graham Onions is a very big blow in my eyes, and I share your lack of confidence in Plunkett, Bresnan/Shahzad in the longer form of the game. No surprise that spinners have enjoyed most success in Bangladesh, Vettori, Murali, Kumble, MacGill, Kaneria have all enjoyed a fair amount of success there, but so too have bowlers that can swing the ball, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan and Dale Steyn lead the way in terms of wickets taken in Bangladesh by seam/swing bowlers. With that in mind perhaps Siddy will be a bigger loss than anticipated.

That Kieswetter would be selected ahead of Davies was so obvious it's painful.

He scores his runs on a runway domestically. He was utterly woeful in the Champions League. On what grounds was he a better option that Steven Davies?

Also, hopefully the England selectors will just give up with Sidebottom.

****ing hell guys, he's had TWO poor(ish) games to start his international career. Are we going to give this guy a chance?

Of course.

I'm just annoyed that he's jumped the queue ahead of a better qualified player, and also concerned that so far he's looked completely pedestrian at any level above County level.

Took the England attack to pieces just the other week tbf. It's not like they haven't got a good look at him.

Davies should probably be playing, but how has Kieswetter become the scapegoat for Davies' exclusion when Alastair Cook has a spot in the ODI side?

Kieswetter will get a fair look, if he's good enught he'll bounce back, but whats concering is that he should have been out 5 times in 2 games.

Hey guys anyone know if this ground is notorious for dew heavily favouring the team batting second? Cricinfo seemed to suggest batting second is an advantage, and Bang won the toss and bowled first.

Interesting how a lot of these young England players (Wright, Kieswetter and Bopara) get their hands in terrible positions when playing forward and driving. Usually a product of heavy bats and flat tracks which would fit for at least one or two of them but I have not seen enough of Kieswetter.

Finally got a stream going for the last two balls of the last over. Looks like it's not coming onto the bat too well at all. There's also **** all spin.

Forgot this was on at this time, just turned on to see Cook out.

Really hope Pietersen can get himself somes runs today, not fussed it we lose though.

Syed Rasel would have been handy on this track, with the ball slowing up before it reaches the bat.

Might also be worthwhile to bring one of the seamers back on for a couple of overs and see what they can do by varying their pace.

Someone should show Kieswetter how to play spin. On a pitch with uneven bounce/against a bowler with a decent slider, he would be a sitting duck.

KP could learn a thing or two against left arm spinners too.

Maybe it wasn't Yuvraj who owned him, but all left arm pie chuckers?
