DingDong is Mark Nicholas?Slater: "bad ball, put away"
Nicholas: "What was bad about it? Really harsh to call it a bad ball"
*awkward silence*
That just happens in any sport. Most commentators simply comment based on results, rather than what leads to results. Simply becuase it is easier and actually leads to less dumb remarks. If you listen carefully to what commentators say, you really will hear A LOT of crap. Doesn't matter if it is cricket, football, speed skating or cycling.Slater: "bad ball, put away"

Well, that's a promising line-up! However, I doubt Benn and Roach would have to fight for one spot. Let's forget Pollard for tests right now.Certainly couldn't be picked as one of the top 4 bowlers. What he could allow them to do is play him as the number 6 batsman who bowls a bit, let Bravo be picked as one of the best four bowlers and bat him at 7.
Seriously, which bowlers would you currently rather than Bravo? I'd say, from what I've seen, its only Edwards, Taylor and Roach. And as soon as one of those three aren't fit, then it suits the team.
Gayle
Barath
Sarwan
Chanderpaul
Nash
Pollard
Bravo
Ramdin
Taylor
Edwards
Roach/Benn
Inevitably, fast bowlers get injuries. And I think that team looks better balanced. Maybe if all three quicks are fit, then it'd result in Pollard being pushed out.
Was more commenting on the awkward bit...That just happens in any sport. Most commentators simply comment based on results, rather than what leads to results. Having said this, I know doing live commentary isn't easy.
Speaking of women's cricket, is anyone else excited about the match on Sunday being televised on Channel 9? First ever live women's game shown on free-to-air. Can't wait.Gold from Cricinfo today. Can't imagine it'd be much fun to be rapped on the flap (especially if we're talking women's cricket ).
Don't mind watching the women's cricket. Find it a pretty different style of game to the men's. More innovative shot selection as most of them cannot clear the ropes. Find some of the medium pacers get some awesome swing too at the pace they bowl at. Not looking forward to the Ch9 commentary of the game though, can't put my finger on it, just think it will be cliche filled and display a real lack of knowledge.Speaking of women's cricket, is anyone else excited about the match on Sunday being televised on Channel 9? So how will it be different from usual? Not looking forward to the Ch9 commentary of the game though, can't put my finger on it, just think it will be cliche filled and display a real lack of knowledge.
Agree with all that; I'm quite a fan of the women's game, but I know some here aren't...Don't mind watching the women's cricket. Find it a pretty different style of game to the men's.
