You'd think so wouldn't you.....Just wondering..
Is J. Patel the second best Spiner in NZ? I mean comon.. with first class average of 40.. he is hardly good for a first class team..
Without looking in to the forecast and all, and not actually coming from Hamilton, I'm going to say, maybe. Is the draw a good bet considering possible weather interference?
We've seen gloomy rather than dark overhead conditions, and cloud cover all day. Doesn't seem to have been any rain since play got underway. The pitch had a light cover of grass but there hasn't been a ridiculous amount of swing exploited from the Bangladeshi pace bowlers. What is the pitch and overhead conditions like?
I am not sure that I appreciate having my post called ignorant. In its defence 3 or 4 members of the New Zealand team are not test quality. Patel has a FC average of 39 and a batting average of 13. Yovich has a bowling average of 33 and a batting average of 29. Who would you prefer - the selectors went with Patel. I am sure that Yovich would not have embarrassed himself and now at 247/5 having him coming in next ahead of Tuffey wouldn't be such a bad thing.Yeah but the thing is your best suggestion of an allrounder was Yovich. It is fairly ignorant to suggest the idea when there are not even any test quality allrounders around. Corey Anderson is the best I can think of(barring the two injured Wellingtonians) but very unsure whether he'll be bowling be then.
I quite liked the look of Shafiful, especially for such an inexperienced player. He hurries onto the bat fairly deceptively and should be part of the Bangladesh attack for some time.
Yep definitely one of the biggest bullies in the world.Baz to make a blazing ton? He's quite the minnow basher...
Was keen to bring this up all day but didn't have the internet. Our test batting is just appalling tbh
Interesting that Taylor had such trouble with Rubel, as he's had the exact same problems with Malinga (constantly getting beaten on the outside edge by a bowler with a slingy action)
Look at his past year or two though. Though conversely he probably didn't deserve selection when he debuted a few years ago.Just wondering..

I particularly remember the '07 World Cup semi where Taylor played and missed at every ball of a Malinga over or something ridiculous. It's not even like Malinga or Rubel really swing it...he just doesn't seem able to come to terms with the natural shaped created by that action. Was keen to bring this up all day but didn't have the internet.
And how stupid the idea of starting a Test match at 12pm.A shame to see the players go off with a scheduled hour and a half's worth of play still remaining. Didn't see to be overly poor light, and given how well Guptill and McCullum seemed to be playing after tea and that Bangladesh had a spinner, Shakib, bowling at one end, it does seem a little odd the players have left the field. Also, it always amuses me that grounds don't make use of floodlights when the light is indifferent - I know its something to do with ICC playing regulations but surely common sense dictates they'd be used.
